Patton Oswalt is great.

Him hanging all day was awesome. He really can hang with the boys like some of the best. Would love him on anytime.

"Patton, you got anything to promote today?"
"White Power. You gotta keep the white race alive."
Maria walks in
"This is like the Galadriel elf woman, and she is walking into a troll's den."
Maria: "Kevin and I have been together 16 years now."
"BOOOOOOOOO!!! I don't know about this Kevin. He's weird, he stands in the hall, I don't know about this guy."
Maria: "I won't say who, but we used to live next to a reality show family."
Opie: "The Osbournes"
Patton: "The Mansons?"
Patton rules.
2 DipsomaniacDawg 2014-03-14
I think Anthony was the one that booed Kevin?
Patton brings out the best of Jimmy and Ant. There's a lot of setting up of humorous topics they can riff on.
The "Travolta's head pops up of Kenicki's lap" line by Ant today killed me.
2 Mabepossibly 2014-03-14
Yes, the chemistry sounded like Patton had been on the show for years.
-34 [deleted] 2014-03-14
FAWK YEAH. HE'S LIKE YODA TEACHING YOUNG APPRENTICE JEDI'S THE POWER OF COMEDY. LOL
40 Ebhagz 2014-03-14
Patton is like the nerdy version of Norton in the sense that he's so quick-witted and hilarious.
10 Slippery_Slope_Guy 2014-03-14
Jimmy was on his game today too. He and Patton can both be hilarious because they have such different styles that Jimmy doesn't get all bottled up and they can just play off each other.
11 okconsumer 2014-03-14
Jimmy does seem to enjoy Patton's company more than other non-regular comedians
9 ScoleriBrother 2014-03-14
Yea. I feel some of his references fall on deaf ears because its just not on the same wavelength as the show.
16 Epithemus 2014-03-14
Yeah the regular joe truck drivers that listen to O&A don't usually go for his style of comedy. Too much woosh for them.
20 racecartitty 2014-03-14
Eh well, you got a good knock-knock joke, I'm all ears, I'm not all for that smart humor.
14 rahtin 2014-03-14
Container of coffee, honest days work, we get it.
3 [deleted] 2014-03-14
And not enough Star Trek references
2 UncPa57yrzyng 2014-03-14
Oh come on! Your trying to tell me truckers don't like Oedipus jokes and Jesus Christ/Legion of Doom comparisons? I would've sworn Patton would be on the blue color comedy tour by now with their new opening act "Billy the Bass Man!"
11 CasinoIndian 2014-03-14
It's that he has the balls to make the references. Like his H.G. Wells reference at the Flavor Flav roast.
26 CasinoIndian 2014-03-14
It was a welcome throwback to the days of Patrice and Burr.
7 UnclePaulHarghis 2014-03-14
Holy fuck I was listening to some of them recently. Patrice angry at Burr because he thought he threw him under the bus on another show made for some of the best radio ever. I'd put it up against any of the best stand up performances ever.
2 L4A2X0 2014-03-14
Link plz? I haven't heard this, I can't imagine. I love both of them.

Well, my work productivity for today is shot. Thank you stranger!
Edit: this was apparently the day after superball. Wow.
22 VeritablyClean 2014-03-14
The show needs more comics like him, doing full shows.
7 Ojisan1 2014-03-14
The show is always best when celebrities who are also fans come on the show. Like Ricky Gervais - I think he likes O&A because he remembers where he got started - a sorta small radio station in London (XFM) doing a different/weird/edgy show. Going on O&A must bring him back in some way.
I respect Gervais because he isn't one of those who is too big for the show, and he seems to genuinely be a fan of the boys. Same with Patton. I was surprised that Maria Menounos also seemed like a pretty knowledgeable fan.
4 ValleyChip 2014-03-14
I fucking loved Ricky's show on XFM. I used to listen to those over and over on deployment. So glad the world knows how amazing Karl Pilkington is now.

I can't not hear that in his voice and think of his stupid riff raff rocky horror hair do.
18 Opprobriousness 2014-03-14
I forget how consistently hilarious he is.
12 th3malcontent 2014-03-14
He makes people around him funnier, I find. When he goes on shows I frequent, he stirs the pot in a right direction and sets up jokes continually. He knows when to stfu and challenges the normal path of breaks. I enjoyed todays show and loved his dad coming in and calming the panic of Flight 370. All around good show today. Sans Menounos... Skipped over that shit.
*flight number.
21 CasinoIndian 2014-03-14
He's like Colin Quinn that way. A comedic signal booster.
9 [deleted] 2014-03-14
Menounos was great. A very cool hot girl who actually can hang with the boys.
9 Slippery_Slope_Guy 2014-03-14
I like her too, but she should tone down the kegs and cheeseburgers schtick. You're just one of the guys WE GET IT.
-1 CUNTYMOM 2014-03-14
its cause shes from MA, a lot of the girls here are actual sport fans and pretty good drinkers.
1 Ojisan1 2014-03-14
It's schtick in MA too, but everybody does it, so locals think it's genuine.
It isn't.
6 CasinoIndian 2014-03-14
Once she dropped the beauty queen affect and actually got into the show, she was awesome. Classic Loveline is the only other radio show where hot chicks quickly dropped their press junket attitude and showed a sense of humor.
Jim's "Have you met any celebrities?" was hilarious, too.
1 WiretapStudios 2014-03-14
Classic Loveline is available as a podcast if you haven't heard it yet. Tons of episodes are up now.
17 erockarmy 2014-03-14
Who cares if he doesn't like guns. He's genuinely funny and I liked that he was a fan of the show. He takes the standard potshots at "those crazy rightwingers" but it's not a schtick of his. And he was good (not funny good, acting good) in Walter Mitty.
25 PigsArePunished 2014-03-14
Check out "Big Fan", he stars as a Bobo-esque obsessive sports radio listener, pretty dark, very strong performance.
9 hansel4150 2014-03-14
He was good in Justified too.

Big Fan has Lebowski-esque potential as a cult classic.
4 GoFudgeUrself 2014-03-14
not even close haha even tho i liked it
4 erockarmy 2014-03-14
I've wanted to see that for a while, but you've convinced me now with one word: Bobo.
4 HANKKKINGSLEY 2014-03-14
If you have ever listened to Francesa you will enjoy Big Fan.
2 schwoogiejoe24 2014-03-14
big fan was good, but he was even better in young adult.
-3 mcnaughty1994 2014-03-14
Just because someone's wrong about gun control doesn't mean we can't be friends and laugh together! It just means they're an idiot in that subject, whereas we're probably idiots in another subject.
3 erockarmy 2014-03-14
Yep. Patton could probably clean anyone's clock on Star Wars trivia and not just in movie trivia like how it was made, down to the cameras they used to film the ships (dykstraflex).
9 Slippery_Slope_Guy 2014-03-14
Take notes liberals who get butthurt every time Nick Dipaolo is on. It is possible to disagree with someone and still be a fan.
16 HeyCarpy 2014-03-14
Opie: "What years were your father in Vietnam?"
Jim: "'78-'81"
(laughter)
Patton: "Yes, he was actually on tour with Mr Mister."
1 WiretapStudios 2014-03-14
That was so quick, but then I remembered that he is consistently quick. Everything keeps rolling. Vos is funny in a different way, but every comment he makes is like a train throwing the breaks on and then having to reset for 10 minutes.
16 Ebhagz 2014-03-14
"There's two kinds of comedians in this world: Patton Oswalt, and silly mofuckas." - Patrice O'Neal
2 rsWhittington 2014-03-14
Is that a real quote?
2 Ebhagz 2014-03-14
Yeah I can't remember when he said it though I think it was when Bobby Lee was in but I'm not sure
12 stopsucking 2014-03-14
Absolutely. Especially like him when Jimmy is there too. They are both so damn quick.

Aaaaaaaaannnnndddd in typical fashion, whoever is in charge of sending the shows to Audible had better things to do on a Friday. Has Steven Knight uploaded to Youtube? I love Patton on the show.
2 Viking_Lordbeast 2014-03-14
He's got the entire appearance up.

Seeing as Feelin' Kinda Patton is one of the funniest comedy albums ever recorded (up there with Skanks for the Memories"), yeah I fully expected Patton to do well. He's one of the most consistent comedians in the business today.
3 [deleted] 2014-03-14
One of the best guests in the show in a very very long time. Brings content like his dad, always has interesting things to contribute, and he's most certainty funnier than he was. I hope they have him back more often.
3 maynardsabeast 2014-03-14
Yeah he was incredible today. I love that guy. And I love him and Jimmy's chemistry
2 andrewsj1 2014-03-14
I nearly drove my car off a bridge laughing at him talking about the Tenderloin in SF when he goes "Either I just saw the world's ugliest transvestite or Yaphet Kotto is doing research for a movie"

Between O&A and his stint on "Justified" ("Drew....bacca?"), I have been totally turned around on Patton.
1 davexunit 2014-03-14
"Drew... Drew-mama!"
-5 mr__hat 2014-03-14
I just don't find him interesting. I guess he is ok, but I just tend to doze off when he is on.

He is without a doubt my favorite guest. The show is just constantly great when he is on. Vos, Bobby and De Rosa can all suck a fat dick. They are garbage compared to him.
