So far today. Bitching about people bitching and online videos. I really wish these guys wouldn't phone it in everyday so I wasn't wasting my time with the 7th free trial of sirius that I've used.
I just noticed today that whenever Opie bitches, Anthony jokes and tries to make it light-hearted and Opie reverts it right back to bitching. I honestly haven't heard Ant bitch about anything since management talked about them moving to afternoons.
Anthony is a smart dude.
Management probably told him to cut back on all the racism rants.
Instead of cutting back, he eliminated them entirely, which gives Opie more time to talk.
And when you give Opie more time to talk, we end up with three hours of boring ass radio like yesterday.
Basically when management tries to reign in Anthony, it makes it obvious why he rants: it makes for good radio.
He's been doing that forever though. If Opie complains about something that Ant doesn't care about, he jokes through the whole discussion. That's what led to that big fight they had during the Bam Margera thing.
It seems like the opinion from this sub and Opie's regarding the quality of yesterday's show are very different. And I especially like it when he complains about other's "feelings being hurt" when his panties are often the easiest to get in a knot. Maybe he's just fucking with us.
They kinda missed the point of the whole banbossy thing and just took the catchphrase literally because banning words is what they are obsessed about as a show. They're not actually trying to ban the word bossy, they're just using it as a way to get people to think about how they are using the word in relation to ambitious women. Which relates to the larger point of how society tends to discourage leadership qualities in women. Its weird how angry they got over it just because of what they are naming the campaign.
Also, Ant saying "we need another 9/11 type event because it jolted people back to reality" is ridiculous. Because the post-9/11 mentality was really good for the country.
"They're not actually trying to ban the word bossy, they're just using it as a way to get people to think about how they are using the word in relation to ambitious women."
No, they got the point. Their point was that truly ambitious people don't care what other people think, and pushing through criticism. Leadership is accepting a dominant role: you gotta be able to handle simple criticism. If you're worried about being thought of as an asshole or bossy, then you aren't an ambitious person.
It's also a stupid campaign because it makes people think "ambitious" women need to be coddled & are weak. If I ruined someone's ambition because I called them "bossy", then what other VERY simple obstacle could ruin their ambition?
No, they did NOT get the point. I agree with iaknet that it's not a literal campaign to ban the word bossy, for god's sake. And sure, ambitious and assertive women don't care if people call them bossy. Guess what--IT'S NOT FOR WOMEN. The whole point, which they said over and over in the campaign, is that YOUNG GIRLS get dissuaded from leadership roles early on in their lives when they MOST CERTAINLY ARE very vulnerable to labels and what their peers think of them. I'm not saying I think the campaign is going about things the right way, especially since nobody seems to be understanding it.

Opie started with "we had a really good show yesterday". Opie is a liar.

More fake radio Opie always complains about.

Some one actually downvoted my comment. Obviously, they did not listen to monday's wonderful exercise in watching video on the radio.

Haha. That's cute. I was in it when it was just a week free trial instead of a month. I might be on my 30th or 40th by now

I paid for 3-4 years but then realized how stupid that was.

I'm so lazy, I'm paying for three subscriptions. Two of them are in cars I don't even own anymore.

That's because Anthony is happy with coasting because he makes righteous bucks. When you do A/C work you never want to go back

That actually makes a lost of sense. Opie has been killing airtime lately.

Anthony did call out Sabean today for giving them less control of the channel

I don't think anyone misses the racism rants, if he's trying to make a point about how essential they are then he's totally failed.

Where have you all gotten the idea that management tried to stop his race rants?
10 [deleted] 2014-03-11
"This has 90's written all over it." - Says Opie while looking in a mirror.

It was due to Daylight savings time. It affected Fez pretty bad too. Yesterday's show did have a slow roll going and ended like one.

Opie going "yaaaaaaw" over the Dr talking about Ambien was SO FUCKING ANNOYING. Shut your fucking mouth, Opie!
3 I-am-Gizmoduck 2014-03-11
You mean "Dr. Steve"?
That's sort of what they do with him every time he calls. That and "Fluiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiids"
0 [deleted] 2014-03-11
I'm sure if he broke into some 90's grunge rock talk Opie would be "all in".
8 I-am-Gizmoduck 2014-03-11
First piece of Audio I heard was that "Ban Bossy" PSA, which I literally thought was an Onion piece. I was like" Why are they taking this serious?"
Good lord that is a stupid campaign.
