Does Roland have blackmail against O&A?

He is fatter than E-rock, more hipster/foodie than Sal, and more instigating than Sam, yet never gets fucked with.

Was a fan until "Pedestrian desserts".

They just know he's hypersensitive. It's the same reason Opie doesn't get fucked with and the same reason Danny rarely got fucked with.

If he is hypersensitive then he should watch how he treats people and keep a lid on his insults/general rudeness. He can't have his cronut and eat it too. He should be fair game just like anyone else on the show. And if he freaks out about it because he is hypersensitive, then he should take that as a wake up call.

Opie not getting fucked with is pretty obvious since he is one of the main guys. Anthony is the same way. But even then, Opie still gets joked on every once in a while (Opie's days at WAAF, his modeling career, the Jocktober friend, etc).

As for Danny, he never really went out of his way to be a dick to anyone that often, or cause a lot of ruckus on the show...he was kind of just "there".

Even in the last few months when Danny was there, they had an intern on the aftershow or the main show complaining about Danny fucking with him for no reason, not even to be funny just yelling at the intern to just yell at him.

You're not wrong on Roland. I'm just explaining why he's treated the way he is.

As for Op and Danny, I don't know how you could come to either of those conclusions. Opie only gets shit for "safe" stuff and Danny acted like a twat with impunity to just about everyone thanks to his friendship with Ant.

I agree with you but tbh Roland doesn't seem to insult others enough to really be too much of a hypocrite about expecting others not to return fire. Plus he's very aware about what the show is - I'm sure he's very kind and likable off-air. When he does insult someone I'm sure he'll make it abundantly clear it was just for the show and make it up to the person.

Opie doesn't get fucked with

none of that is them actually making fun of/calling him out for his actual faults, like the fact that he's unfunny, dumb, interrupts, tries to be hardcore, etc. the jokes they're making are about an imagined scenario and are mostly at the expense of paralyzed people, not opie himself and the reality of why he sucks.

Well firstly, that's literally one example in decades. Secondly even during that whole clip he's crying about them being hard on him. The guy is incredibly insecure.

Ever notice he never has had a girlfriend or anything of the sort brought up over almost 7 years? Kinda mysterious... Just saying

Well he is fat and unattractive...

And has an annoying voice.

E-rock has a wife.

E-rock seems like he can be pleasant to be around. Roland is an unpleasant mess.

But he white

E-Rock is also the most senior staff member on one of the biggest radio shows in history. He has some cash and hobbies that aren't fattening

Roland has connections and chef friends

he's textbook "straight-but-couldn't get a chick without paying for it."

Patrice got into a bit, also the boys bash him a bit....golden days

Newer listener: is Rolando gay? (this is actually a serious inquiry lol)

He's "mysterious"

Could be a qweeb or a quay

I know it's the bit to say yes but I don't think so. The only proof I have is the story about getting jerked off by strippers when the show went to Cleveland.

Roland will always have a place in my heart for the way he thrashed Vos years ago. And Master Po. "How's your dog? Is he still dead?"

He didn't really trash him. He tried, but it was weak and petulant. Vos got the better of him.

It was hardly weak. It had the whole studio fucking rolling. Retard!

Yeah Roland's fucking funny.

I think the unsaid thing about Roland is that he is extremely pathetic and has no life outside of his work.

I'm kinda shocked he can get work in NYC (people in the media business don't hire unprofessional-looking neckbeard types even when they can do the job well), but he does work in the only business where connections outweigh all else and he works for O&A, which allows him to be "offbeat".

I would like to hear his speaking voice when he's talking to people in the industry to see if he can slow it down....but maybe he is just an email pitch guy.

My bet is on his "powerful", influential family.

Don't. Get. The. Panda. Angry!!!!!!!!

I don't get to listen very often in the UK. Can someone explain to me how/why Roland is back now? Is the creepy gay kid still there?

He was rehired in 2010. Sam is the executive producer now.

How's your dog? Still dead?

Anyone wanting some Roland schadenfreude: listen to the Ronnie B/Jay Mohrssss "Half-Slices" show. Jay goes up against Roland pretty hard and Ro-Ro gets flustered and embarassed. And then, in a perfect little bit of "what-goes-around-comes-around" Jay gets destroyed by Louis CK.

Roland doesn't get picked on because he is one of the few that can actually fight when his back is against the wall.

He sounds like a moron.....can't stop eating....and loves dishing out fat jokes to Erock....and is the most sensitive on the show

The fat **** should shut up if he doesn't want people getting on his case

Didn't Fez mock Roland by making fun of the fact he was crying once on air? Hypocritical coming from that glass closet queen, but goddamn did it give me a fucking chuckle.

Love to see those two go at it...

SHUddup TwEETer VOSs

EHRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Because when he gets pissed you see a different side of roland.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccb0vjttsWs#t=206

A great listen, you hear angry roland for the first 20mins and they even talk about "the other side" of roland.

I love "pedestrian desserts". If you get pissed at "pedestrian desserts" then you have a plebeian palate. Just accept that you have lower-class, trash taste and move on with your life

They don't fuck with him because they respect the fact that he will happily fight back. He doesn't take the shit, so they lose interest in giving it to him.

you are way off.

He's pretty vicious when he wants to be, and has definitely earned his nickname.

No.

Yes.

He really doesn't fight back. The guy took several minutes of getting cereal being thrown at him and did nothing. He'll bash other people, but not the bosses.

He got cereal thrown at him for a goof, but in a youtube clip titled: Roland Vs. Vos, Roland practically got in Vos' face and screamed at him for being a failure as a comedian.

He had a pretty heated battle with Joe Derosa a few months ago too

The boys goof on him all the time, he doesn't bite back. He'll be vicious to whoever else buy not the boys.

That's it! I don't think I've ever heard him really fight with those two.

its because hes a cute teddy bear

GRRRRRR.

i also love the delivery on his harsh lines, he'll just rush thru them, mumbling angrily all pumped up and angry then giggles

No he's a panda....don't get him angry.

He has had a career outside of O+A and they would be back to having stalker patty as a weekly guest if he chose to leave

I'd rather have the retards and comedians than shitty actors, shitty authors and repeat.

This. While they were great once they came on, the Love Boat guy and Dog Whisperer in 1 week was a bit of a drop off of usual talent and nobody could have known they would end up being good radio, you could tell Opie expressed quite heavily that he thought they were BS bookings before they showed up. Let's not forget the bookings lately that have essentially just been Howard's sloppy seconds. Get some more Bocchetti and Louie in studio. The only "quality" bookings we have had lately are all friends of da show who would have came on even without a talent booker (Vos, NDT, Bob Kelly, etc.). Frankly I'd rather just hear O&A chat about youtube videos than listen to another wrestler/MMA interview too.

Before they brought him back to the show there were comedians on every day, and the show was at it's funniest. I don't hate Roland but people he books fucking suck.

Does it really matter who the talent booker is though? I'm pretty sure it's the name of the show that books the celebrities, not Roland's fame.

It has nothing to do with fame, it has to do with connections which Roland seems to have. When he was gone, guests were nonexistent. I think Opie's bullshit about bad guests is just that, bullshit. Opie knows radio better than any of us. Him, Ant, and Jim can take a seemingly bad guest and turn it into good radio. That's what they do. Retards can be amusing but getting Love Boat guy to open up is a talent. A talent that Howard doesn't have. A talent that is second only to Ronnie B.

Roland has zero connections and zero pull. He's a soft shit. He is not a player.

It is impossible to name any booking that he himself made happen. Every guest is either an old friend of the show, or some shit-heel already in the building doing a plugging tour of all the SiriusXM shows.

When he was gone ... The O&A strategy was to fuck with guests, which unsurprisingly meant they couldn't get more guests. They then chose to change that strategy and to more often just sit and listen as c-listers plug shitty books and reality shows, and had Roland back to arrange the names and dates in a diary. You've got cause and effect mixed up.

And Opie had fuck all to do with Isaac working. Listen to the tape, he was still trying to pull the obnoxious douchebag routine five minutes after everyone else in the room had figured out that Love Boat guy was gonna be cool.

Yeah I noticed that listening to that interview as well. Opie was still doing his "bad cop" routine after the rest of the guys settled in and were interested in having a genuine conversation with the guy. At the end of the day, Opie and Anthony agree to the guests that come on the show. The decision is theirs. They wanted Lange on the show. Sure, they trashed him before he came in and asked each other "what are we gonna talk to this guy about?!" but they do that stuff to protect themselves in case the interview does end up being boring. This way they already have the audience prepared for a flop of an interview so if it is even remotely interesting it comes across like they made magic happen.

No.
