250k isn't much in NYC - how much do the boys make?
1 2014-03-06 by red_eleven
Anyone know? It seems like they have mentioned its more than a million per year. But I've never heard any numbers for Jimmy who per the intro is a "friend" and not an O or an A. Sam? Nagel?

Sam let slip a few years ago that he makes like 45k a year

holy shit.....

Back in 2007, Eastside Dave had a crazy rant about how great Ron and Fez are and he said he makes $35K. Everyone had a big laugh after he let that out.

Pretty sure the staff doesn't make shit. Don't be fooled though, 250k in NYC is plenty.
1 poopstainmcgoo 2014-03-06
It's plenty, but a household that makes $250K per year in NYC isn't "wealthy".
1 francis_goatman 2014-03-06
Compared to anywhere else, no. In specifically Mahatttan, 250k is not wealthy.

Opie's apartment was 3.35 million (trump tower)
Anthony's house is probably in the 2-3 million dollar range judging from the area.
Make your own assumptions. They do well for people who work 4 hours a day

Opie lives in Trump Tower?
5 [deleted] 2014-03-06
Yes. So does Jimmy. Because neither of them have any taste.

2,925,000 for Anthony, it's all public record searchable by real name.

I don't know what the fuck Opie is talking about with this.
250K is a very comfortable number to live with if you reside in any of the boroughs or Long Island. 250K may be relatively little compared to people who are making HUGE numbers on Wall street or wherever, but it's absolutely possible to live in NYC comfortably with your family on that salary. I honestly think Opie might be a little too detached from the average Joe.
Source: I have lived in Manhattan, Queens and Long Island on a salary FAR less than that over the last decade, and know plenty of people in my same situation. But what do I know I just pack my lunch pale and punch in and out don't botha' me none.

2.5 a year

$250 isn't rich in NYC, but it's not poor either. It's decently well-off with enough coming-in to save a bunch and invest some unless you're completely dumb with your money. If you have a family, those numbers change a bit - but your biggest expense will still be housing ... so factor in whatever your rent or mortgage will be to that number.

Anthony has talked many times about playing the stock market and catching a few windfalls while doing so, and I believe Opie owns a part of FH Rileys.
Not that either of those are earning them a huge sum of money, but I'm sure they both have money in other places. When you're rich, you hire people to move your money around and make sure you stay rich.

I've been listening for a long time and I can tell you that based on their spending habits ( vacations, guns, audio equipment, private schools, gambling, upper west side living, Suburban school taxes, Car leases, Security, Kenny, Cruises) they dont make less than 4M and dont make more than 10M a year. I guarantee it. Theyre both paying close to 500k in taxes a year alone.
1 VanDamme79 2014-03-06
Used too. I'm sure since they LOST their FM radio markets their pay has gone down drastically. Syndication on FM used to pay those numbers. Not a sinking siruisXM

Just educated guesses here, no facts: Opie 2.5Mil, Ant 2mil, Norton 0.5M (show only), Eric, Travis, and exec. Producer Sam all in the 150k area. Roland 100k, Sal 70k
4 [deleted] 2014-03-06
These are the worst estimates ever. There's no way Sam makes more than $100k. And I would guess that Roland's experience and specialty earn him a lot more than some of the other staff.
2 bangaloresa 2014-03-06
But if we're being honest Sam earns his money while Roland is busy booking dog trainers. Sam should be make more
1 VanDamme79 2014-03-06
Then offer up some of your own guesstimates for scrutiny
2 ytambien 2014-03-06
A couple years ago they were talking about how much Sam and Erock made. It sounded like Sam was around 50k and Erock was in the 70s or 80s
0 VanDamme79 2014-03-06
I think that's what behind the scenes guys make at typical big city stations. I would hope the staff of this media destination make higher than the industry avg.
2 SextingPics 2014-03-06
I do believe Op & Ant make the same. There is no reason he 'needs' to make any different amount. They were making 3 mil a year, I'm not sure if they took a pay cut before the second to last contract, but they got a slight raise this most recent contract, as did Jimmy. A couple years ago they did say Sam was making 45k and Erock was making a lot more (like in the 70's). Travis would be in between those two, and there is no way Sal makes 70 I'd be surprised if he made half that. I think, based on him hinting at it, Jim used to make about half a mil I would hope he has gotten a lot more since.
2 opieanthonyjim 2014-03-06
Haven't they said over and over that they have identical contracts? I've heard them say that a few times when talking about other shows (Scott and Todd) having different salaries.
2 bangaloresa 2014-03-06
how retarded to think they dont make the same.. just dumb
0 rosyyoshi 2014-03-06
why would opie make more than ant? Just curious. He obviously wears the pants in the partnership, but in the end they do share the show, right?

Opie owns the O&A brand by himself and to maintain control in the show he would have to at least make 51% of their take. Opie does seem to have more responsibilities than Ant as well. Don't know the exact % or the value of the brand so I just put him half mil ahead. I think Sam used to make garbage, but his new title probably carries a new pay grade. When they used to talk about the Nagle mansion, they through out a 120k number, that was like 2 years ago, so I inflated a little.
1 rosyyoshi 2014-03-06
What?! Since when does "opie&anthony" belong to opie? I don't know anything about radio, but that seems kinda crazy.

You think they're spending 600K plus on STAFF?? Where do you come up with these numbers?
1 VanDamme79 2014-03-06
I know when they were talking about Erocks new house they mentioned him making in the 120k ballpark. That was two or three years ago. I based the rest of the staff off of that. You got to remember too is that million dollar talent that relies heavily on the staff aren't going to have a bunch of scrubs working for them. This staff didn't start from the bottom with them. They hired above avg guys to fill above avg roles. Sure sal and Sam were interns and I might be a little high on sal, but Sam is executive producer now.
2 OpiesTits 2014-03-06
I doubt any staff member makes north of 6 figures. If anybody is coming close it's Roland. Who did they hire to fill roles? Travis has been around forever, Sam has been around forever, Troy worked at Sirius before the merger, and Sal was an intern. Erik? Hired in 2004. Who are you talking about? You're talking about a company that doesn't want to pay for insurance on live events they're going to spend north of $600K on staff? I guess it's fun to pull numbers out of your ass but you're nuts. Fucking Sam had to have DL Hugely help him buy a TV, I don't know what makes you think the staff is well paid.
1 VanDamme79 2014-03-06
Look the post asked, what do you think the boys make? I answered and prefaced it with "a guess, not fact". Relax. What's your guess?
1 OpiesTits 2014-03-06
You also said things like they hired people to fill roles which is very clearly not true. Was that a guess too?
1 VanDamme79 2014-03-06
When O&A first started with satellite radio they were coming off of not being on the air for 2 years. They were still big nationally known names. They didn't bring over the same staff from FM radio. They hired all new staff. It wasn't like they were starting out as nobodies and had a bunch of poorly paid scrubs. They were the guys XM chose lead them in their competition at the time with Sirius. Christ, you had to pay even more back then to hear them. So I'm sure, like anyone would, they paid a decent penny for better than average guys for their staff. Sam could have afforded his own fucking tv. He's just a frugal boy who didn't want to spring on a new one. Just because you have money doesn't mean you can't be a Jew about it.
2 OpiesTits 2014-03-06
You don't even know what you're talking about!!
"They hired all new staff" - you couldn't be MORE wrong.
Ben & Steve C. were holdovers from WNEW for fucks sake!! The remainder of the staff were INTERNS. Derek, Than, Travis and Danny, all interns. Then Sam, another intern. Nobody was "hired" except Erik, who basically sucked Op's dick until he had a job. I think you're forgetting that O&A don't pay these guys, Sirius does.
It's one thing to make a mistake, but you're either dead wrong or lying, so pick one.
1 VanDamme79 2014-03-06
I just farted into my hand and smelled it. Bubbalicious!
2 OpiesTits 2014-03-06
Sweet! Now say "Sorry, I'm completely wrong." Are you capable of admitting your own mistake?
1 VanDamme79 2014-03-06
Absolutely, are you capable of offering up your own numbers? Do you at least agree that Jim makes substantially less? Only assumptions of course
1 OpiesTits 2014-03-06
Sure. Op and Ant 3 mil\yr each. Jim approximately 500K. All staff under 100gs with Roland being most expensive at perhaps 90K.
1 rosyyoshi 2014-03-06
Wow, who knew. Thanks for the info.
