Someone posted the audio earlier. He was in a radio interview and whoever was interviewing him said "I hear from DJs at sirius that sirius doesn't really pay well, unless you are Howard Stern or maybe Opie and Anthony. Do they take care of you financially?" and Ellis responded by saying something to the effect of "If you ask me my show is already better than O&A's and Howard's and I'm up and coming and they are more on their way out so as my audience continues to grow and the other shows phase out I'll get bigger contracts." (that's paraphrased).
Yeah it definitely isn't a big deal and you can bet your ass Howard won't bother tweeting about it because when you do that you bring your show to the same level of the show you are addressing. It'd be like the Yankees addressing some little league team cause one of the kids on the team said Jeter is a bum. I think the Opster is just looking for material for the show.
Yes, opester seems to be on a little power trip once he realized that the fans can cause things to trend near the top. When they were talking about cake horn trending he interjected " so, we can do that". As if making it about him and 'the power he has' instead of reporting the on goings of Ron and fez. I know I'm not explaining it well, but I think Opie is looking for another target (Ellis) to unleash hell on their twitter page.
Yeah I get exactly what you are saying. It actually kinda bugged me when he did that during the cake horn bit too. I kinda wish people who listen to the show would stop getting that shit done for him so that he can just focus on content rather than trying to find cheap ways to feed his ego.
