Patrice Benefit

So far everyone's been fucking hilarious. Big Jay Oakerson/Dane Cook/Colin absolutely killed.
Some moron kept yelling out random awful references until he got kicked out. (Around the 3rd time Vos came out, this fucking moron screamed out, VOSAPEDIA!!, quickly followed by threats from the rest of the audience.)

I hope it was Bobo.

Wishful thinking. I know for a fact that Bobo made it through the entire show because he dropped a bottle of red wine all over the lobby floor as the crowd was exiting...it went EVERYWHERE and a lot of people weren't pleased with him..

Oh shit, that's what that was? On my way out I just heard a glass break and a bunch of people go "Bobo!...fuck.."

What a useless ass.

I was front row, just off center. Jimmy locked eyes with me for 80% of his set and I gazed back at that hilarious amorphous newt the entire time.

They had Bobo on stage, too. What a treat.

I'm not downvoting your post because it is a shitty post, I'm downvoting it because Bobo was on stage.

I really wish next year they release on video a la louis ck, it would be a great way of getting more money for the family, and those of us who live far away (in china right now) can get to see it too.

I'd buy it before Opie's next instagram artwork

yeah that guy was a huge dildo. Annoying, I was hoping Keith or Colin would have shredded him to pieces when he blabbed.
-1 AgbayanisHead 2014-02-19
No, that dude yelling (and then randomly wandering his aisle looking for his seat- i think it was the same guy) was horrendous. I think he was on the spectrum
1 Tuvor77 2014-02-19
Yeah, the mezzanine section really has to get its shit together for next year. I do love that a venue normally used for opera was introduced to such barbarism.
-14 UnwarrantedArrogance 2014-02-19
Yeah well you all just didn't get it. I was KILLING and helping the show. The guys who kicked me out were absolute assholes and they wouldn't give me a refund! Just because its a benefit I can't get a refund? Kick your best audience member out halfway through? Yeah that's a great business model. NOT!

Christ, another benefit for a dead guy? All proceeds go to his family who for some reason can't work for a living like the rest of us?
4 kgt5003 2014-02-19
Not another one of you idiots. His mother is an old woman so she can't work. As far as his wife/step daughter go, it's CHARITY. The purpose of charity is to VOLUNTARILY help out a cause OF YOUR CHOICE. You don't have to contribute if you don't want to. This keeps people from collecting government entitlements. When less people collect government entitlements, our taxes aren't so high. You're either very liberal and want everyone to have to pay more, or you're conservative and don't understand charity vs entitlements as conservatives love charity for keeping entitlement spending lower.
0 NotInsane 2014-02-19
So? What makes her different from the tens of millions of other old women who can't work?
Oh, his family is a charity case? Those Netflix/DVD royalties just don't pay the bills? What makes them so deserving of a concert thrown for their benefit?
I'd be a little more forgiving if the money raised went to Stroke research or a genuinely worth cause. Dead people don't need benefits.
1 kgt5003 2014-02-19
You don't need to be forgiving. Just don't contribute. People who want to will. Complaining about people raising money from willing donators to help out the family of a loved one who died is pretty pathetic. DVD sales drop once people already own them and no new material exists. And after that would you rather your tax dollars pay for them or voluntary charity? I don't see how that can make anybody bitter.
2 NotInsane 2014-02-19
Just why are they charity cases? Why don't they have money? Von de Carlo has her own television show.
After Patrice died, all of his money was going directly to them, instead of occasionally doled out if he was feeling generous.
Fact is, in most families, when a family member dies, the surviving members receive a small sum through life insurance or savings, and life goes on.
These entitled bitches probably got a greater inheritance than the overwhelming majority of people, but it's not good enough because 1) they believe Patrice would have been a big star and 2) they had grown "accustomed" to a certain lifestyle.
As Jimmy might say, "I had grown accustomed to having my ass eaten!".
These bitches deserved none of what they got and deserve nothing in the future.
1 kgt5003 2014-02-19
They are charity cases because Bill Burr decided that to honor the memory of his friend he wanted to take care of his remaining family. If you think that isn't a worthy cause (and maybe it isn't) then don't pitch in. Don't be bitter because Patrice had a lot of friends in the industry who want to do right by him by taking care of his loved ones. Some people are lucky like that and some people aren't. Dems da brakes.
