The purpose of charity is to VOLUNTARILY help out a cause OF YOUR CHOICE. You don't have to contribute if you don't want to. This keeps people from collecting government entitlements. When less people collect government entitlements, our taxes aren't so high. You're either very liberal and want everyone to have to pay more, or you're conservative and don't understand charity vs entitlements as conservatives love charity for keeping entitlement spending lower.
