Dr. Gay demoted, Sam as new EP?

2  2014-02-17 by [deleted]

I heard Ronnie B mention that Sam has just been made executive producer, which is confirmed on LinkedIn, whereas one Travis Tefft, Gay MD, is listed merely as a producer. Wasn't he EP after Steve C was canned?

And that's how you executive produce

YESSSSSS

So cringey...

Sams only job should be as a fluffer to real men.

I tried this already: http://www.reddit.com/r/opieandanthony/comments/1xxrft/so_sam_is_travis_travis_is_erock_erock_is_sal_and/.. Good luck getting any semblance of an answer from these knuckleheads.

Travis seems like a back-office guy—could be moving up, also.

By back office, you mean anus right?

what else would that mean?

One man's eternal regret is another's stepping stone, I guess.

Travis got Sirius into a lawsuit and the only reason he wasn't fired was because OnA fought tooth and nail to keep him. Getting your company into a lawsuit is one of those "career limitin decisions."

The ball-kicking incident?

Indeed!

fill me in on this please i know not this ball kicking incident?

There was an intern named Blind Stevie. Travis kicked him in the balls in their office and it was caught on the security camera. Turns out Travis kicked too hard so Stevie's family sued Sirius. Sirius really wanted to fire Travis but OnA argued with management to keep him. As 'punishment' (probably a deal) O&A were not allowed to have interns for a year which Opie would complain frequently about.

Holy shit, I now understand about 3 months of shows 10 times better...

you amuricans are fuckered. suing the company im working for because my coworker kicked me in the balls is the last thing that would come to my mind.

And where are you from?

Can we line up to kick you in the balls?

im throwin fists whoever touches me first wont be suing anybody

Calm down pal..

Hey everyone, we have a tough guy here, better watch out. He be throwin fists.

im simply saying that if i were kicked in the balls..instead of being a bitch and suing the company that has nothing to do with the incident it can be dealt with one on one. not bringing in a court and nonsense

Well...... Intern was legally blind, so hard for he to be throwin fists... that and the remainder of the standard disclaimers that we really don't know what took place before, during, or after the incident. It's the employer's job to make sure that there is not a hostile working environment. Doubly so when there someone with a disability involved. As Blind Steve didn't get the same amusement that everyone else did, and it seemed like he was hired as an intern just for the goof factor, IMNAL, but I would think that he had at least a reasonable case.

Even if you're an unpaid student who's meant to be in a training program?

but to sue sirius... thats what i have a probl3em with.deal with who did it whatever way you can

rape a labrador what in the fuck arre you talking about

Why did he kick him in the balls? Was it a part of a bit?

They were screwing around with the interns which is nothing new. It wasn't on the air which could potentially have been a deciding factor as off air meant Sirius could keep it under wraps.

I like Dr. Gay. He is the only real sports fan on the show and he laughs at Ant's Seinfeld references.

What is E-Rock's title? I thought he became Executive Producer after Steve C? Also, I think Travis has been Producer for a while, so don't think he was demoted.

He's senior producer, he was still on the board and the intern wrangler since then. It sounded like Travis was Sal's boss, or like the de facto EP the way he operated. Sounds like primetime is at the helm now though.

Ah, Gotcha. Well good for Sam. Despite what some think of him, it sounds like he works his ass off.

I figured that Travis was the EP, and Sam had taken the 4th mic/content producer spot. Erock, Sal, and Troyquan handled the production duties as well as board op and assorted tasks for Erock/Sal. I just hope there's a good naturedly ribbing to come on Tuesday's show.

It sounds like Travis was the EP until that episode with the kicking of the intern balls. He mentioned that he wasn't allowed to be called that when Sal ratted to the bosses that time. Sounds like everybody has a black mark on their record except Sam.

I always thought Erock was top dog behind the scenes. Am I wrong or does Sams title make him higher up?

They were both senior producers before this along with Travis who lost his title after the intern debacle. Sam's EP promotion makes him top man.

Now a caller just asked about Erock, and Ronnie B said he's left the company and is starting a consulting company?! Is that a bit?

Also, I though Sam wanted his own show on SXM, but the Entertainment channel's criticism of his voice must have set him on the path to EP.

Poor Dr. Gay left out in the cold.

Yes, Erock left the company and continues to come in and get weighed and ridiculed for his own amusement

I didn't know if this was a new development, his promotion read Feb 2014. Plus it sounds like Erock would be upset b/c he's Senior Producer and Sam just skipped over him.

But Sam does ass loads of work for dozens of shows on SXM. He's a workhorse and deserves a promotion.

But he shouldn't get the EP spot over Travis and Erock b/c he hosts nights on Hits 1.

Stop posting

carnies and rubes

Ever occur to you that Erock and Travis (who both have young children at home) might've not wanted the added responsibility and turned town the position?

Erock doesn't have a child, does he?

Didn't he announce he was expecting just to get completely overshadowed by Opie announcing his 1st the same day?

Seeing as nobody seems to know what I'm talking about, maybe it was Steve C and I'm not remembering correctly.

Maybe it was Steve C, because the only kid in Erock's house is Erock.

I thought so too. And then it was never really brought up again.

That was his engagement, not a pregnancy. He got engaged at Disney Land/World/whatever on the same weekend as Opie did.

Thank you. My bad.

Noooooooo.... He finally put that Nagle seed to good use? I dont believe it

Erock maybe, but I thought that Travis had already been named EP, or was at least the default EP since Steve C left over 3 years ago. I found it odd that Sam would take over a job Dr. Gay already had on lock.

Before the Christmas break, didn't they say there would be some changes made? People would get moved around

If I remember correctly, back when there was all the talk about a bus tour, Kenny came in annoyed at all the lack of planning and said something like "If this show had an actual EP, someone that could talk to management, then maybe we could get this done."

My guess is that Travis went from a content producer to a more back office producer, but wasn't actually "in charge" like Steve was. Maybe he didn't want to be "in charge" or he never really took charge. Remember when they were petrified of the Radio Wizard because after the boys would say something, they would feel the wrath afterwards? They need someone that does all the fighting on their own rather than lumping everyone in.

i wish Opie was demoted or moved on, see... cause i think he sucks...

fawwwk yeaaa

Is this your first Gold?

It's the first time he's been acknowledged.

He got it for himself.

It's only 4 karats...
