I know Cancer is a very complicated disease but I can't help but think that the amount of stress he was under played some kind of factor into it developing in his body. Losing all that money and all his possessions not only would affect him mentally but physically as well. That sucks man.
Stress definitely does have a detrimental impact on your Immune System. He also used smokeless tobacco for years though as well so when you do that you are already rolling the dice for mouth cancer.
