Jay Thomas

Does anyone listen to this show? I checked out Jay Thomas's show today and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Yeah, it's not O&A but it wasn't as bland and middle of the road as I was expecting either.

i heard it once and heard ira and was sold, didnt pay much attention to the others.

I like listening to Garrett (stinky) repeat things that are said earlier that day on O&A. He even uses Chips "wassat?" at times.

Our Garrett is an awesome Garrett?

I used to listen to it quite a bit, I'm not sure how different it is now. Shuli Egar feeding Ira the Weatherman lines of shitty things to say to a guest during an interview really made for fantastic radio.

I've never heard that done before...arroit.

s-stole moi bit...fughh yewwww!

Im more impressed by the fact you managed to perfectly spell out phonetically how Bobo (or rather Anthony's impression of Bobo) said fuck you.

It's a quirk of mine, imitating Bobo-speak on Twitter or Reddit.

Haven't heard in a while but Ira the Weatherman could make any show hilarious

PUT IT ON YOUR WEBSITE!

I've been listening pretty much daily for a few years now. As everything, it's an acquired taste. It's a nice fit for a schedule of O&A to R&F to Jay.

Jay reads tons of news stories, has interesting Hollywood stories, does interviews with really obscure guests then proceeds to talk over them non stop and cutting them off before they can give proper responses which is clearly a bit. Garrett/Stinky clearly listens to O&A everyday, so he brings some of the same content and opinions to the show, which is fine as it counterbalances the others who are mostly liberals and Howard fans, and Garrett tends to get off some funny lines. Christina appeared on O&A a few times as fodder for Bobo to drool over her giant cans, if you folks recall. Ira the weatherman comes on Wednesdays and Fridays for the second half of the show and reads lines written for him; he is terrible at reading ala Louie, Beans, but it's funny especially when he interacts with the guests. Shuli shows up on Friday shows, to mostly write lines for Ira. Since Jay missed about 2 months for his neck surgery, Kevin Meany has been sitting in every Mon to Thurs instead of just Tuesdays. He can be annoying with very old references and gay talk like Fez but he can be entertaining as well unlike Fez.

All in all, it's a solid and topical show, once you get used to Jay's abrasive personality. When he really starts getting annoying and becomes a dick to the callers and everybody around him including Ira, the show is at it's best. He's actually walked off his show a few times while on the air, and I think some of them weren't actually bits. Yes, Jay sometimes takes a shot at O&A, but it's tongue in cheek, mostly to get a rise out of Garrett because they bring up how he worked for them at WNEW.

I used to listen to his show all the time deff not O&A but it's pretty good.

I flip to it when commercials come on O&A in the afternoons. It's not very good, but neither is much else on satellite. Maybe first among equals?

Jay Thomas was pretty good when I listened a few times 4 or 5 years ago. Kinda Ron and Fez like.
