Downvoters are in denial. Howard saved Sirius, O&A didn't do the same for XM. He has a bigger show (when he actually does it), and has spent his career working to grow his persona. This is the result of that work. O&A could play the game more, but instead chose to shit talk their bosses and burn bridges while lamenting the old days.

Saved the company? Are you serious? His 500mil contract put that company in a hole that they would never have gotten out of. Sirius Radio was way behind on the technology side of things compared to XM back in the day, as far as the satellites and software limitations the system provides. This is why they still have so much separation in radios for a "merged" company. When XM was working on building a diverse channel lineup to appeal to the masses, Sirius' only concern was their boy Howard. The merger poisoned the responsible leadership of XM Radio, and now we have SiriusXM, a company that can't keep their subscription-based streaming service online for more than a few hours without errors, broadcasts music stations at painfully low bitrates on the satellite end, and notorious billing issues, thousands of which are documented in BBB complaint filings.
tl;dr: SiriusXM blows.
