Vos and Bonnie's podcast
2 2014-01-18 by rohs310
I started listening to this after i'd heard last weeks show when Vos was talking about his dead brother.
I listened to about 6 episodes but i had to quit. I used to think Bonnie was funny when you hear her on OandA but she's actually very obnoxious.
If she's not futsing about knocking the table every 3 seconds she's constantly derailing Rich's topic with fucking girly hole nonsense like how women have to worry about looking pretty etc.
I also found her attitude towards doing the podcast very grating, she acts like the whole thing is beneath her and doesn't want/need to do it yet whenever Rich starts talking she's derailing the whole conversation by mocking Rich and continuing to turn it to be about her.
Her voice is mildly annoying normally but her put on voices that she does at any and all opportunities make Sam Roberts sound like James Earl Jones.
To top it off despite her constant claims she doesn't want to do the podcast she talks way more than Rich to the point that i don't think Rich has been able to finish a sentence without her butting in with her fucking annoying screeching.
Does anyone else find this fucking hole tolerable.

I think her attitude towards the podcast is the bit. The show is called "My Wife Hates Me", after all.

nah, that shit's good.

Don't get me wrong, I like the podcast, I think they're both pretty entertaining.

I dunno, it's the one podcast I never miss. I love them both and I think the whole dynamic is very entertaining. Yes, Bonnie acts like Rich is making her do it, but that's part of the fun since she has shown up to do it every single week for the last couple of years.
Of course I'm biased since I did this podcast with them: http://hwcdn.libsyn.com/p/6/6/e/66e3dfd34880aa25/MyWife_095-Compatibility_Test.mp3?c_id=6296864&expiration=1390097367&hwt=adad6b5956bb7e1f0b6ed552abd61968

Exactly. Plus, Rich is the same guy who was calling an iPod a mini disc player like two years ago... there's no way the podcast is Rich's idea. It's probably only behind Norm and Rogan's podcasts for me.

It's hit or miss. I've listened and been very entertained. It beats Florentine's terrible podcast.

Is florentines podcast that bad? I only heard it like once and didnt think it was bad. But like I said I only heard it once.

I got tired of it after 6 or 7 episodes because its extremely formulaic....he picks a topic and then goes on a 30-60 minute rant about why that thing sucks. But i stopped believing that he actually felt like that and instead was just in character. Some of the arguments/hating feels a bit weak.
1 Unshavenhelga 2014-01-18
The last one I listened to was just 30 minutes of ranting about the songs that should never be played at weddings. None of it was funny, and I ended up turning it off.

Well that sucks. Thanks for the heads up.

It has its moments.

oh ok, good to know.

Does anyone remember the exact numbers and times of the episodes when Bonnie sucks Rich's cock? You know, for science

I didn't care for the podcast the couple times I heard it. There are very few "comics shoot the shit without any real direction" podcasts I like anymore though.

There are only like ten episodes, but watch/listen to Norm's podcast. Incredibly funny and aimless.

It was one of my favorites - i still check for updates, hoping...

he's supposedly on hiatus because he was behind on his book deadline

I listened to their podcast for the first year or so, and finally gave up. Not much of anything happening. Not much humor, Rich pontificating, Bonnie behaving badly. Ponderous.
2 10below 2014-01-18
But that's the humor... Their dynamic is fucking hilarious.
2 Ebhagz 2014-01-18
yeah it's not in your face humor its more subtle. Have you listened to the episode where Rich talks about his brother's funeral and gets mad at him for dying around the holidays that was hilarious
2 Ebhagz 2014-01-18
I actually like it a lot

Disclaimer, I've only listened to a few episodes.
Bonnie is great in studio on O&A and she is a saint for tolerating Rich, but on that podcast she sounds like the biggest cunt on wheels.

I bailed out after a while. I hated that she spent so much time telling Rich that no one cares about his stories. I would rather hear him tell a mediocre story to completion than just staring a story only to but cut off and told its dumb and no one wants to hear it.
2 megan_slaw 2014-01-18
I did after initially reading this grab the latest ep and they have improved the recording quality a lot but she still doesn't let Rich steer the ship at all. You need one person to keep the show on course and while Rich is a half wit he at least tries to do this but the hole just squawks and dicks around till he gives up.
I suppose it's unique in this way but i only really found it listenable when they get someone on speakerphone as Bonnie shuts her fucking squawking cakehole long enough for some actual comedy to evolve.
I used to wonder how she could stay married to such a dolt but now i know it's because not many guys would put up with such a cunt.
2 nochinzilch 2014-01-18
That's the point. They act like assholes to make us laugh.
2 Ebhagz 2014-01-18
It's the only podcast where I religiously listen to every episode. Bonnie doesn't annoy me because the whole bit is that she's supposed to be annoyed at Rich but they tell great candid stories. The last episode they debated on how comics trash each other and they talked about stories with Patrice and stuff and idk I like hearing Rich and Bonnie's stories
1 ScoleriBrother 2014-01-18
Im subscribed but its meh. Some episodes are good and some i just skip after about 20 minutes
1 Kennigit 2014-01-18
It has been one of the defining influences in my not wanting to get married. Bonnie is funny but exhausting.
0 scottm4211 2014-01-18
It's one of the better podcasts out there, and Bonnie is great.
3 GoFudgeUrself 2014-01-18
why is bonnie "great".. ?

I'm a wife and I hate the podcast. Whenever I listen (which I don't anymore) I develop this growing sense of empathy for Rich. Perhaps Bonnie only treats him like shit when they're recording but I feel so bad for Vos. A relationship shouldn't be like that.
2 GleepGlorpFloopdedoo 2014-01-18
I'm thinking that a ~1hr audio-only internet show once a week is not really a good measure of how good or bad their relationship is.

I'm a therapist who often does marriage/family treatment. All it takes is an hour to evaluate a couple.
1 GleepGlorpFloopdedoo 2014-01-18
Assuming that's true, do you normally evaluate your couples via podcast?
0 [deleted] 2014-01-18
No, not by podcast but by watching/listening to the way a couple communicates.
2 GleepGlorpFloopdedoo 2014-01-18
...right... on a show... where 2 comedians bust each others' balls.
2 HANKKKINGSLEY 2014-01-18
Talking to people on a CB radio (she is incredibly shitty caller Lady Trucker) is hardly therapy.
-2 C_Givesoft 2014-01-18
Shut up, faggot.
-3 [deleted] 2014-01-18
She is funny but Rich is retarded and that fact needs to be brought up at every possible moment. He actually gave out his twitter password on air so lets keep that in mind before we go on any anit-bonnie rants
5 GleepGlorpFloopdedoo 2014-01-18
I don't understand why you're being downvoted. Everyone on this sub calls Rich a retard, and rightfully so. He's funny, but he's also a half-wit.
0 PigsArePunished 2014-01-18
You should bring that up next time you hang out with all your comic friends.
