They need each other, they have a symbiotic relationship. The sum is greater than the parts.

We know what the shows are like when one of them is out. Opie runs a smoother show but there is no funny. Ant's shows are funnier but there is no structure and it just devolves into a bunch of dudes talking over each other cracking jokes.

Ever heard live from the compond? Ant can't keep a show together by himself. He needs an Opie or Jimmy to feed off.

Opie could go do a terrestrial morning show and be okay. Ant could go serious or funny with a quality show. Whether or not it would be palatable for a wide audience is another story.

Opie would have the better show. He is more dynamic with guests. Cares more about broadcasting great radio. Ant steering the ship would dock the ship at Camden, NJ to yell at blacks while repeating Fox News talking points.

EDIT: Example. Mike Bocchetti was in studio in 2011 when Opie was out. It was Ant & Ron B. in studio. Mike mentioned he was in the marines and it completely passed over. When Mike was in studio before the break he brought it up again that he was in the marines. Opie teased the hilarious 8 min. story out of him. Thats something Ant never does.

Thats because he doesn't care about celebrities. Jimmy worships them.

Not even necessarily celebreties. Neil deGrasse Tyson was in there and Ant pretty much did everything. If the interview is going to require the interviewer to have some sort of knowledge about a variety of subjects Opie usually doesn't say much.
