"and he can't fucking help out a fellow comic". You mean Jimmy specifically. You make it sound like he bumped Jimmy's episode for nothing or a Kardashian. He constantly puts out episodes with comedians. It no doubt did not work out in an ideal way, but I doubt it was malicious or intentionally rude. Chris in the last 6 months has been constantly working and then dealing with his fathers death and other personal stuff.

How do you know Maria's episode wasn't delayed for quite a while?

I think Chris..may be one of the few good ones...

I'm thinking he just wasn't really in a position to do much to help Jimmy out. He was already booked solid and had shows guaranteed to other people so he couldn't bump them to air Jimmy's show. For a podcast it seems that he runs a pretty professional show. I was looking at his guest list and he lands people like Tom Hanks for christ sake. I posted on this earlier but it sounds like what happened is Jimmy's agent talked to Chris's people. They told Jimmy's agent that they are booked up and don't think they can get Jimmy in before his special release date. Jim's agent told Jim "we're still working on it." Jim then texted Chris to ask to be on the show. Chris assumed that Jim's agent had already told him that they are booked but saw Jim's text as a desperate plea to come on so he said OK so as to not be a dick but still couldn't guarantee a release date. It is what it is.

im not sure how nerdist does it, if it is only one release a week but why couldn't he just release it as a bonus, so if it is a weekly podcast just release two one week

I dunno. I'm assuming they pay for a certain amount of bandwidth per week or month or however they do it and they can't go over that amount without paying extra. I'm not 100% sure how they do their releases but they may have some sort of arrangment where they can only release x amount of shows per certain amount of time. They do have sponsors and such so there could be some legal reasons involved with contracts with their sponsors etc.

Go and have another look at the guest list, they don't have Hanks on every day.
There are more zilches than Hanks types on the show ,so to make it hard for a guy like jim to appear ,a guy who has promoted Hardwick a few times ,in preference to people no one has heard of is odd.

A lot of people outside of the O&A fan base havent heard of Jim. Chris has 3 TV shows (or 2 now that breaking bad is over) so he doesn't really need to be promoted too heavily. His podcast gets a crazy amount of listens. But the nerdist forum isn't really suited for Jim's type of comedy anyways. But none of that really matters if the dude already had his show booked. For all I know Hardwick could have his shows booked 6 months in advance and if he wants to have return guests he can't bump them to do favors just because O&A has him on maybe once a year.

Jimbo obviously thought Hardwicks appearances on the O&A show carried some weight, you heard how pissed off he was this morn.
There must have been some reason other than tight scheduling that made it hard for Jim to get on the show,it was probably as you said, suitability.

If it was Joe Rogan or Jay Mohr's podcast I could understand him being really pissed because they are friends of his/the show but since Hardwick isn't really a friend of the show so much as a guest maybe once a year, I was kinda surprised by his reaction. If his special bombed or something I could see how he might just be taking it out on whoever he could but it did really well so it seemed kinda petty.

Is that how you would run your business? By the whims and desires of others?

The way Jimmy is acting, is the vocal equivalent to the silent crazy that is Fez.

Fellow comic? "MTV game show host, turned podcaster, turned live stage performer...".

You might not like his comedy, but he has done comedy regularly for over 10 years. Again, not arguing his level of success or greatness, but he has been doing it.

So has Mick Foley...
2 erik2690 2014-01-08
As far as I have seen/heard Foley says the show is more stories almost like a one man show. Again you may dislike Chris' comedy, but he is clearly doing standup. Maybe a fair comparison, but it doesn't change the fact that Hardwick started standup in college before ever being on TV and has done it the majority of the time since.

Calm down, Hardwick White Knight, I just wanted to make a WWE reference.
BAH GAWD!

Upon hearing it again, I think it's pretty clear that Jimmy was annoyed, but didn't blame or hold animosity towards CH. What really bothered him, in my humble opinion, was the way his own agent handled getting information regarding the issue (ie not doing a thing). Could this situation have been handled in a much better/more professional way? Sure, but I think there's blame on both sides and I think Jim realizes that.

I'm not crazy about Chris Hardwick but I think this is a misunderstanding. He seemed to like Jimmy a lot on the podcast. Jimmy even gave them their first spit take.
