Over Christmas break, I was listening too O&A's old xm shows from before the merger, and the show was way better. It was less prepared and just felt more like regular conversations. Coming back from break, with the new format and Sam's influence, the show just seems hacky. More Sam = bad. An hour is enough of him. Now the show is cut down a half hour. And it's a "media destination", whatever that means. The show just seems lame since Tim became the PD. I've been an O&A fan since they started on XM and I have to say, the show is worse than ever. My favorite periods were the early XM days and the last months of 2010. With the new direction though, the show seems to be moving in the WRONG direction. Sadly, I think we are seeing the downfall of O&A, like with Stern. Thanks, Tim!

It different because they are older. Now its more political, as opposed the early years where it was way more comedy/shock oriented. I still find the show really funny at times.

Sam has to be quiet unless called upon during the real show. He is overexposed.

The show definitely used to be funnier and more outrageous. I think Sirius put a leash on them and the boys are too old and rich to put up a fight.
I remember them bitching about not being a able to have comedians on the show regularly. Bobby, Burr, Vos etc. are hardly in with the regularity they used to be. Partially because those guys have grown beyond where they need O&A for exposure.
What the boys should do is head down to some comedy clubs and start inviting young comedians onto the show two at a time to hopefully kick things back into gear...but that would take effort. Even if SXM said "Well..I dunno." They'd take that as a hard no and just bitch about it on the air.

The show jumped the shark when they returned to free fm with those awful hacky daily bits. When they got fired things turned for the worse and now Opie is an elderly diaper changer and Anthony is a militant right wing nut job racist. Jim is the only thing worth listening to
