[Serious] O&A convert after many many years of Stern.. Why does Opie make more than Anthony, when Ant clearly talks and drives the show more?

I hardly ever hear Opie speak.. Sorry if it offends anyone..

EDIT: I just want to make clear I am a convert, and am trying to understand

No, Opie and Anthony make the same amount. They have said as much in the past. During a break when they were talking about a google search of their respective net worths Opie basically said "How can you have less money than me, we make the same amount!?!?" Anthony replied that his ex-wife took a big chunk of their initial contract with either XM or the terrestrial channel in NYC/syndication, I don't remember which.

Her lawyer specifically held off the proceedings for 2 years or so in order to get a chunk of this contract. IIRC, their "reported" net worth should be about $5-$7M different because of that. I say "reported" because they never verified that the numbers were correct.

Edit: My friend and I have talked about Opie's contribution to the show often in the past. The conclusion we come to is while Opie is not as funny as Lil' Jimmy or Ant, he is the professional who sets the pace for the show and keeps it on track. If it weren't for him you would just have a drunk italian singing karaoke/screaming about liberals while brandishing firearms (reference: Live From the Compound) and a bald perv trying to get with the hustler girls or trannys.

Jimmy on the other hand makes significantly less than either of them because his contract allows him to miss a large portion of the shows due to road dates, the Tonight Show and acting gigs.

Well, maybe not acting gigs.

I thought he was awesome in Spider-Man! And in Cop Out! Sure there was only 4 seconds and half a line of dialog between the two movies, but what a glorious 4 seconds and half line they were!

To add to what PrimerNumber2 said Opie & Anthony both elaborated on air once that early on the company tried to negotiate there contracts separately and one (probably Opie) would make more than the other (Anthony), but O&A both declined and told the company the wanted there contracts negotiated together or not at all so they both earn the same salary. They agreed that it didn't make sense for one to make more than the other when both there names are on the show, and they work as a team. However, my guess is this isn't the industry norm.

Ron and Fez negotiated separate contracts. In the end, it was probably best for Ron that they did.

You took a random page you found on the internet about people's net worth as fact? Is it 1998?

Yeah, the guy who came up with CelebrityNetWorth is clearly a genius. There's a massive market apparently for retarded people putting "<famous person> net worth" into Google and thinking it's fact.

Somebody else on this sub and I got into a debate once about if Op & Ant had f-you money and the dumb fuck tried to play the Celebrity Net Worth card saying Op had $5 mil more than Ant when they've laughed about it on the show.

I would go back and listen to old shows. The current show is lazy and the same 5 breaks (90's music, race, pussification of America, Erock fat jokes and bitching about Sirius management.

opie is the radio professional, ant is the greasy dago that was happy to be aboard. i don't think we can say for certain one makes more though as i believe they share the same agent and i've never come across a clip talking or complaining about money, if there was a large cash divide i suspect it would have been mentioned at some point.

that celebrity wealth website is a piece of garbage, it's even been mentioned on the show with guests chuckling at the proposed value, howard earns escrow cause he's a dinosaur in the last space dinosaurs can thrive cause all the management/owners are dinosaurs, ona are lesser dinosaurs and not as valued.

The fuck you talking about?

[deleted]

no he's basically saying wtf are you talking about opie talks all the time, thats all people do on here is bitch about a talk radio host talking.

Their salaries for the current contract they're on are not public. Keep in mind that they re-sign a contract every few years or so, so their salaries have varied over the years. Anything you read about their listener numbers or salaries is going to be unsubstantiated, because SiriusXM does not release those numbers.

cause he sucks.
