Yep. The only thing that I know Stern for is Private Parts. And I was maybe 13 when that came out. Loved it then, but it doesn't hold up well. I'm pretty sure I just liked all the boobs in it.
I used to listen to some Stern callers in HS, everyone knew the OJ Simpson prank call. That's pretty much the extent of my Stern knowledge. I have had no interest in hearing anything that clown has to say.
Yeah, I started listening in 2010 so it was all over by then. It was fun to go back and listen to all their rants about him, but it felt kinda silly to get angry along with them after the fact.
Like many here, I grew up listening to Stern so I don't necessarily "hate" him. I'll occasionally switch over to 100/101. If I had to identify an emotion, I'd pick "pity". Stern on the air now is a shell of his former self. I don't want hear about AGT or kittens. Past shows have been edited to make him more mainstream friendly, which I find personally disgusting. He should retire because he isn't providing any sort of entertainment.
I hate what he became. The old shows were great, satellite from 2006-2009 was great (artie satellite years).
Nowadays he's soft and only on the radio 2-3 days a week and not all weeks. It's just pointless now. He has too much fuck you money and a wife that would rather him be saving kittens than be funny.
The boys have been a bit more behaved and don't really go after Howard as much as they used to, but you can tell that they still don't like him to an extent. He is frequently jabbed (sue a company and they'll throw you a party), and his "work schedule" is also the butt of jokes.
To me, Howard passed a long time ago. Yet he still has the nerve to claim he is the "King of All Media". He barely shows up to work, does a half-assed job, is washed up, and he is still "The King of All Media"? Really?
I have only listened to YouTube clips when the boys bash one of his bits. I don't like his show, but then again i remember the very first time i heard O&A i hated them as well.
Before I discovered O&A, I briefly discovered Stern and started listening to his interviews. I thought he was a good interviewer, but he was just so smug and hollywood that he started to get under my skin. One time in particular was when he interviewed Seth McFarlane and asked him what's going on with the South Park guys, and in the middle of Seth responding Robin in all seriousness says "tell us their names so we won't have them on the show!"..............................So your willing to put your head so far up Seth McFarlane's asshole that you wouldn't have Matt Stone and Trey Parker, two geniuses, on your show because they don't like each other? Really? O&A had Rogan on smashing Menstealia and then a week later had that phony mexican in to make his point. It make's for interesting radio.
I enjoy them both; Howard had his glory days and has an archive full of classic moments, same with O&A. The radio war shit just came off too much like that rapper beef shit. It's silly.
I really wanted to like Stern. I think he does some great interviews but after a couple of years of trying to get into the show, I'm left wondering how he's so popular.
I honestly feel bad for Stern fans these days. You have to assume they're like us and that they subscribe to Sirius/XM for just the one show, and then Howard does maybe 10 shows a month at the most.
My biggest annoyance with Howard is the way Sirius/XM treats him. They give him a ridiculous $250 million contract which means that just about every other show they have gets underpaid. With that kind of money Stern should be doing shows 5 days a week instead of his usual 2. He also sued the company and even though he lost, they decided to sweep that whole thing under the rug and just forget about it. Now they're throwing him a birthday party and paying him to be there. The amount of ass kissing that goes on with him makes it hard for me not to resent Howard, but Sirius/XM are the real scumbags in all of this.
Most everyone can see what a shitty business model it is to invest all of your money in one show, and then proceed to neglect every other show on the platform. I've honestly never seen a giant corporation run more poorly than Sirius/XM. All the money goes to Howard and giving random celebrities channels that nobody listens to.
I used to really hate the Sirius/XM bitching on O&A because it felt like they were doing it everyday and just repeating themselves, but if something like this went on where you worked, and you were being held back because the executives had a favorite employee that they paid more for working less, it'd be hard not to hate the company.
Also, I'd highly recommend looking up the audio when O&A and Howard were going back and forth with each other. It was seriously some of the best radio I ever heard O&A do. Especially when they found audio of Howard's daughter in that off-off-broadway play talking about her vagina.
Used to listen to Stern in the mid 90s when he was huge and checked out his E! show every now and then around that time. He was good back then and became a shell of his former self in recent bits I've heard. But O&A even now are better, even though they get shit on by Sirius.
i used to work in a kitchen and during the AM it was stern and then it would be the boys in afternoons. the days flew by. i got my dick sucked all the time. money fell from the sky. i was skinny and famous. life was good.
I hate Opie way more than howard and now I realize how much his bitterness has influenced this show. So I give Howard a lot more leway. I mean he's still an arrogant ass, but Opie has some real psychological issues.

To hate him I'd have to care first.

No, I can speak for every O&A fan.

He seems kind of unpleasant, but I don't really hate him.

It's still kinda fun to tune into him to hear an out of touch sheltered old billionare ramble on and on while saying nothing funny.

I hate Stern's show, but not because O&A tell me to.

Since before I even got into O&A I never listened to him because I hated his voice.
