Great stuff, Ant ruled when they were hungry.

The boys are doing a better show right now, but this spot on impression bums Me out thinking about how great the Howard Stern Show used to be.. I think Ant even competed on the Stern Show in a Jackie impression contest

early 90's stern was amazing.. it seriously went to shit

Never listened, it was way before my time. Any essential shows I should listen to?

If you can grab a hold of Crucified by the FCC, it's worth a listen. SUPER dated by now (there's no Artie) but it's a decent primer.

Thanks, man!

If you have a SiriusXM sub Howard 101 plays a decent mix of random bits every day. The show was very strong from the early-mid 90's to around when Artie left. Just search youtube for Howard Stern clips from anytime in that 10 year or so period.

the show he used to have on E! was great. The way they turned the days radio into a 30 minute tv show really worked. As a kid i'd watch it every night.

I don't want general advice, I'd prefer to listen to a specific show. Also, I don't have SiriusXM. If I was gonna recommend an episode of O&A to introduce someone to the show, I'd recommend "Luis SpiCK," for instance, or maybe "Little Girl Vagina Smell."

I can't speak for that time period, but the first Sirius show is really good (on youtube it's probably listed as Staff Revelations), and of the stuff from just before Sirius when they first hire Sal and he reveals how crazy he is ("Sal wants to sleep over Howard's house"), any of the Artie fighting with people stuff (although honestly if you have a day to fill, just listen to the Complete Artie Lange Addiction Saga).

There is a lot.. I'd start with the billy west clips.

Gilbert Gottfried + Sam Kinison in 1990. Those two were always amazing on the show, and I think Gilbert still visits from time to time. Billy West bits are great as others have mentioned.

HOLY SHIT, Sam Kinison and Gilbert Gottfried together? Amazing! I didn't know Howard had comics on the show in this manner.

His show around that era was very loose and unstructured which led to some golden moments like this.

Here's the whole show or at least the parts with Gilbert/Sam. Good listen for anyone unfamiliar with old Howard I suppose.

Yeah, Gilbert still visits but that lazy bastard Kinison hasn't done a thing in decades now.

You'd think he was dead or something.

Yeah and apparently he was wasted too lol.

I had my pops listen to a recent show after not listening to them since leaving terrestrial radio and he was bummed saying "they just don't sound the same and they're not as funny."

I've never seen this real rock tape hahahahaha.... oof.... I would've been on Stern's side back then...

he should have taken the wig off as soon as he signed off.

i always thought ant had a stern-like voice, recently its gotten more unique but earlier in the days he totally had the stern laugh and accent going on.

Not to stop the Stern hate circlejerk but can anyone link me an example of the Stern laugh that I hear on the show? I've seen clips of him laughing but I don't hear the ho-ho-ho.

Needs a more heavy compressor setting and a tremendous amount of bass from 30-100 hz.

If anyone wants to listen to all the old howard stern shows from 1980-2013 go to wushdishmeen.net. the downfall is the site is invite only. i'm a member but getting invites is very hard since you have to contribute material to get them. however, if you make a donation you can get an invite as well. a one time 10 dollar donation gives you access to the entire howard stern archive. if you don't have the money you can go to the site and ask current members for invites, and if someone's nice enough they'll give it to you. the site has everything. all the E!, HODTV material is available too. Its by far the most extensive archive of any show out there.
