I'm new to O&A and curious as to what the future holds for the show

When does their contract expire? Are they in the same boat as Stern when it comes to being fed up with Sirius and not wanting to renew? Do they have plans for another platform?

They say they are upset and I'm sure they are but they all have bills. Anthony has an armory/drone base/prehistoric jungle to maintain as well as a ton of girls he sends money to, Jim is well off but still need a high income to keep up his lifestyle. Opie is probably the only one that could retire today and be fine.
A podcast maybe, they bring it up from time to time. But more then likely they will just resign again because that's a lot of money to talk. Oh and eventually bankruptcy for Anthony is guaranteed.
If you are new definitely check out their earlier stuff from XM. If you think they are good now then you'll blow a load listening to the old shows.

opie is the only one with kids though, I doubt he would stop working.

Yeah and they're young too, still has to support them for over a decade. He won't be retiring from work anytime soon if he wants to keep up his lifestyle as well.

Don't forget about the gambling and the constant parties, Buying shit for any cute girl that bats an eye at him, more gambling, not to mention between his mortgage, property taxes the upkeep and utilities for a mansion with a large pool, jungle, movie theator, etc. His place cost a lot more then Opies.
Opie has one major expense and that's the apartment. While Ant was buying a Shelby Opie was buying a Jeep Cherokee. If they both quit tomorrow then All Opie would have to do is buy a house in upper middle class suburbia and he would be set for life. Ant would be bankrupt in probably 5 years. Not because of what he has but because of the fact that he will continue the lifestyle.
Opie is a spendthrift. Anthony just buys anything and everything he wants. You can call me a faggot and an idiot like you love to do in most threads for saying it but anyone with some common sense can see who of the two will run out of money first when the paychecks stop.

You think Ant's house in Roslyn Heights is more expensive to maintain than Opie's penthouse on the Upper East Side? We'll have to agree to disagree. Ant lives on Long Island, not Greenwich. i'd bet Opie's apartment cost more than Ant's house.

I agree. It isn't too hard to find out what Zillow thinks Anthony's place is worth. And what google says Opie's place is worth. Upper West Side is more expensive than Long Island. More than double based on square footage.

There is the bitter termitepaint I'm used to seeing post all over this site.
I guess I have no other choice then to concede. Fiscally responsible Opie would be screwed and man child Anthony will be forever rich...

Yeah, remember that time Ant lost a sum of money in a single weekend that, in Louie's words, would have been enough to set up a scholarship fund that would have lasted for generations? Between the gambling, the heated pool in the dead of winter and the guns Ant definitely spends more on his hobbies than the average parents spend on their kids.
Not to mention he lost a huge chunk of his peak earnings paying alimony to his cunt of an ex (and Dominic Barbara).

20 years of multi-million-dollar contract talk-radio. Trust me. Opie has no money problems.

What girls does Ant send money to and why?

Lets just say he, ironically enough, is very generous to some of his exes and future exes.

1: Their contract expires in october and if they resign it lasts 2 years. #2 They hate how the company holds them back from being bigger than they should/could be and frequently voice how shitty the company is but in my opinion as a listener for a few contract cycles I think the good still outweighs the bad and they would resign unless something huge happens before october. #3 They would use Podcast as a safety net but they're a couple years too late to get into it

As much as they talk shit, they won't quit radio. Come 11 months from now, they'll sign on the dotted line again.
-1 Mr_Maloonigans 2013-11-17
I've been taking a stroll down memory lane and listening to their early XM shows and all I'm gonna say is I think that they already quit.
1 nochinzilch 2013-11-17
What makes you think this?
1 dcwathefuture 2013-11-17
I think they'll resign a contract that will extend slightly beyond Stern's exit point, and see if anything changes.
1 Nebula509 2013-11-17
Stern is "fed up" because he's always fed up, the entire history of his career is complaining because he's always known how big a draw he is, it never helps to be publicly happy heading into contract negotiations.
O&A, like every other show on the platform will keep getting the same scraps left over after each year's Stern contract/big private Apollo party. They will resign, they have to, as others have said there's nowhere else that will pay them like this.
If you're really that new I cannot recommend enough finding some older episodes with Patrice O'Neal and Louis CK sitting in for entire shows.

Why did termitepaint's post towards me get deleted? This place doesn't censor people over naughty words does it?
