He didn't claim he invented it. Also "bites Jimmy's bit", in context he was responding to the person that said: "Jim Norton bit. nice. This is why radio is dying. I'm volunteering you guys for the next jocktober." -- How is getting hit by a professional wrestler, boxer, etc. a "Norton bit"? It's being going on forever. Remember in the early 80's when Hulk Hogan choked out Belzer, Belzer collapsed and suffered a laceration on his head?
