Sounds stupid, but how is the show doing? TBH, I only listen on Youtube. It would be great if they are a podcast.

Danny is just stirring the shit pot. Last year GTAJ said he would get between 10-15k downloads an episode and that was ONE illegal source for the show. If that's the case no way actual listener subscription is "at most" 10k if an illegal site is getting that many hits for the show. Also no way Danny even has access to this sort of information. Not even Opie & Anthony have access to that.

Danny does assume a lot of shit and passes it off as fact.

I remember his fight with Mars:

Danny: "People at this company hate me! And they hate you too!" Mars: "Oh, you think so?" Danny: "....probably!"

Is assume they're one of the higher-rated satellite talk shows, but I don't know the stats

If you really want to know how the show is doing, look at the quality of its advertisers.

Quality of advertisers is a result of no listener numbers I think. Advertisers don't want to pay when they don't have a good idea of how many people they're reaching. Howard's advertisers are equally shitty.

I thought their advertising was getting a little better... I've been hearing more major companies advertising in between breaks - Ford, for instance

Has more to do with ad sales/marketing people, which Opie has bitched about in the past.

Few businesses want to pay the price tag of radio advertising. It's a tough sell—normally takes 2-3 months to begin to feel the uptick in sales (depending on the business). I worked at a talk station in a small city, and we still charged about $2500 for a base-level smattering of 30 sec. ads. Stephen Singer? Probably a king's ransom, in comparison.

To sell radio takes talented people, and Opie said bluntly that when satellite came around everyone who couldn't hack it in terrestrial went there.

Definitely more than that. I remember Ant commenting a few months ago as he was playing his slide whistle: "Can you believe I get paid over a million dollars to do this?"

Even for a company as poorly run as SiriusXM

Man it's truly criminal to have a company like this run by people with lame and backwards thinking terrestrial backgrounds.

It reminds me of when I worked at Columbia Records in 2003 and a mega executive asked me "so what are mp3s and do you have them?" This was three years after the rise of Napster. Three years. Ant's rant really resonated when he said "oh are we going to do fucking airchecks?" The idea of Jocktober alone shouldn't exist if traditional radio methods are "that good."

It's unfortunate that they can't get a high ranking executive to really initiate change on the platform (or even part of it) to make it something that people WANT rather than something that comes with a new car purchase. It just seems like the business model is so parasitic to the car industry.

Hoo's got a picture of someone's dick in a 10-year-old.

I'm sure of it, at this point.

Anthony and Gregg make somewhere between $1.5-3m and Jim makes a lot less.

3 Mil sounds about right. I just dont think Ant could afford a place in the city and that house with only 1.5 mil

If there was ever a time for an intel leak…

It'd be great if they switched the show to a podcast and more people had access to the show. I don't think there's even close to enough money for them in podcasting though, and I don't think they'd be down for way less money and way more work that would be necessary for a new podcast.

Hendrie does nicely with a $9.99 monthly thing, and he gives a bunch of content with it.

Imagine a live stream visual element/podcast (like Rogan), a vault of bits, and probably some naked bitches thrown in for good measure. If they seed it, we will come. If they brought the farm team, it would be a fucking game changer. They pulled more listeners at XM in 4 hours than most cable news shows do in a week.

I'd rather give them $10/month directly than a whole company $15. Really, how many of us really dig into the other channels to the point where we'd miss Sirius?

Scorch reaches millions of homes every day and there is no way the boys are touching that anytime soon.

Scorch is the King Of All Media.

Sam (with guest Ian Halperin) recently suggested his aftershow is catched by about 750.000 listeners.

they have a podcast on itunes

If you listen to one Mr. Danny J. Ross, the show gets "at most" 10k listeners a day. Not sure of the veracity of that claim, but seems like a pretty bold lie to put out there if that were the case.

Why are people asking him anything?

You know, as much as Danny is a fucking shitbag, that's the one thing that bugs me is that people are still giving him a reason to talk about the show. I suppose it is entertaining for someone like me to sit back and watch, but some of these people approaching him with kid gloves are just so douchey, especially when they get all sad when he tells them to fuck off.

Dannys numbers are shit. Plain and simple. Ant had 10k listeners on his little compound shows when he used to do them regularly.

Someone said their ex-wife or girlfriend worked for Sirius or something and claimed that O&A's billing rate was abysmal in comparison to The Howie & Black Hole show.

I mean, it makes sense - Howard's been around longer, he's a household name, he has a movie, AGT, etc. O&A aren't a household name.

The thing is, would you really want O&A to be a household name? If they were, you might end up hearing a show like Howie's.

He's been fired for so long, whey are we still bringing him up. 10k listeners is a retarded number. way too low.

I've never seen actual numbers, but I would guess when both Howard and O&A are live they have half the audience that Howard does. When Howard is off, you could probably tack on another 50% to whatever the fuck that number is. I'd guess Howard does 500k a day when live and O&A do 250k a day.

Those are way too low. Howard def does millions.

I find that extremely hard to believe. He had millions on terrestrial, but I doubt he gets anywhere near those numbers now. The show is off 20 weeks per year and when it's live it's only 3 days per week. Then you got the ever degrading quality. I still he has a larger audience than O&A, but I don't think he does anything crazy either.

They've mentioned in the past they get about 1 million listeners a week. The fact that their podcast made it to number 1 on iTunes briefly shows there's a good audience.

iTunes ranking algorithm does hilarious.

O&A would completely lose the casual listeners who just listen to fill a 30 minute commute cause they hear a few funny jokes about today's news. They don't care about twitter or ever intend on calling in.

As for listeners its hard to guess and I don't even know how accurate SiriusXM's numbers are. They don't hand out log books for people to fill out the only feedback they could get is from the online player which would give them exact numbers.

The 2007 figures where by an independent third party which put Howard at 1.3m per week and O&A at 250'000 I think. The way the measure though is very inaccurate and you know Howard is gonna be less and O&A more. This was the XM era as well!
