My reaction to the whole Tim Sabean fiasco.

I am one of those who would be really upset if the boys moved to afternoons. I have zero interest in listening to Howard ... It will just force me to unsubscribe not listen more to other shows.

And THATs the part management/howard/whoowhooever does not seem to understand.

Newsflash.... Howard planted Sabean with OnA.

Is there really any credence to this theory...honestly? At this point why would Howard even care about OnA. AGT Howie couldn't give two shits about radio and the people in it at this point. What would be his motivation for doing this? Years ago sure but now...I just don't see it.

I think this will turn out to be nothing more than a failed idea by Tim to 'shake things up' and nothing more will come of it.

Ummm less than a month ago Howard had them pulled into a meeting for the Kitten clip shit.

Now they aren't allowed to even play clips of his, regardless of the source.

and you think Howard doesn't notice/care about them?

But that's almost a tit-for-tat scenario. The guys threw a few shots at him so he cried and shut them down. That's a totally shitty thing for Stern to have done but at least it's 'cause and react' you know? I'm just trying figure out the motivation in my own mind as it's almost beyond my comprehension would someone would be so trivial.

Well if stern can't handle minor tit for tat jokes, how can he handle that OA are his only and largest competitors.

Especially when for something like 2 years Howwy would only do 2 new eps a week and the rest were back catalogued stuff from as far back as 2001. That certainly drove off loyal fans and sent them to OA.

I've also never got my head around how two shows from the same company can be competitors. Sure there is a rivalry there but in the end their show has the same goal...pull in subscribers for Sirius XM. I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you though...that's just my thinking. The whole thing is just odd to me.

What would be his motivation for doing this?

Because he can.

I don't know that much about him but he does seem like a petty person that loves any kind of power trip, like 90% of all "celebs".

Fair enough. Out of shear pettiness is something I can almost wrap my head around.

Howard is paid $100 million a year (maybe less this last contract but now less than say $50 million.) by SiriusXM and $15 million a season by AGT.

He most definitely cares about that paycheck. Even if AGT is closer to his desired "least amount of work for most amount of money" value. Only 27 episodes air per season and they record more than one episode at a time.

haven't been able to listen for past couple of days, can someone fill me in.

Oh boy.

A guy that shits all over private bathrooms and doesn't clean it up doesn't "get" the show.

Was that really your reaction?

sigh I know..... I know

He was probably made the DD because everyone said he couldn't drink

This was his response

I'm on mobile and don't have 45 min to listen to a clip. Can I get the cliff notes? Afternoons? Really?

Apparently he got really mad that they left work on time yesterday instead of waiting around for a shitty boring late as fuck guest. On top of that he treats ant like a goofy sidekick not real radio guy, and REALLY wants them to move to afternoons, most likely to stop them competing with Howard.

Thank you sir. When I get in the car that day Oliver stone had just left and whoo kid was mumbling inane conspiracies.

yeah, that was a quick turn around. I thought Tim "got" the show...and he didn't like the Newt/Chip interview? Wants them to move to afternoon (which is a demotion any way you cut it).

Who chose him? Not O&A. He is just some dick that ran WYSP and then worked for Howard. He is not a chosen one.

Pretty sure he's just referring to the fact that the wiz was a bust who never came through on any promise and because they boys had a decent working relationship in the past with Tim, he would be more receptive to the changes they want to make to the show.

It feels like the boys thought Tim would let them get their way every time. I do think its a dumb idea to move to the afternoons though.

Meh. Afternoon drive can be alright, especially if they add another show in the morning (SAM!).

O&A are crying about stern getting them pulled in the office. Ain't that the pot calling the kettle black. Shelby makes a comment about O&A (by the way he was right). Ant complains and the next day Shelby is off the air. I like the show. It is better than the stern show these days. The show will never get big ratings in the morning as long as Jimmy is always making shit jokes. It breakfast time for Gods sakes.

O&A should tell Tim to go fuck himself and stay on morning as the contract states, then after the contract ends TELL SIRIUS XM TO GO FUCK THEMSELVES

Honestly, I've wanted the boys back in afternoon since they were rumored to come back to the air.

  1. No matter where they go, they will get an audience, but I think their afternoon audience was stronger than the morning audience. Callers aside, the show hasn't felt as strong. I think they're strong in afternoon drive time because going home, you're going to be able to stay in the car and laugh, going to work, eventually, you have to stop listening.

  2. The show benefits from conflict, it doesn't matter where it comes from, the listeners, management, internally, it's all the same, I think moving to afternoons will make them bigger annoyances and generate more of what allows them to thrive.

  3. The argument that having them do afternoons and then having the replay next morning is no different than having them do a morning show and replaying in the afternoon. You still end up with rehashed bullshit. Get a third show on this channel for christ's sake.

  4. The show is going to eventually blow up in someone's face, it could be anyone, anytime, anywhere. It's better to ride it out and laugh at the carnage on the way there.

Well if stern can't handle minor tit for tat jokes, how can he handle that OA are his only and largest competitors.
