Sam had to be turning it up ever so slightly too, I swear I could hear it for the rest of the show on

"i thought this was going to be about opies voice"-opiesucks

we get it

I don't think you can "we get it" yourself.

dont ride opiesucks coat tails, your a low budget opiesucks, get your own bit.

whoa whoa whoa, there's plenty of hate to go around towards Opie. All is welcome here. Cuntymom...im flattered you know what I'm about to say.

Yep. Plenty to go around. We've got to keep a unified front here.

It instantly gave me a headache that lasted 15-20 minutes.

Couldn't hear it until they turned it WAY up

Ok, could someone explain this to me? I just listened to the segment and thought it was a bit to make Ant think he was going deaf, but then at the end when they turned it up I could hear a high pitched noise. Is that the bit?

Yeah that was the part of the show, but I don't know if it was a gag, and I couldn't hear it either. I'm going to make a portable one that I can wear on a necklace if it causes the reaction that others claim.

But you heard it at the very end, right?

Yeah, apparently they turned the volume way up. I say 'apparently' because I don't know if it was all just a gag.

It's not a gag, the noise is usually played at a lower volume, because the younger you are, the sooner you hear it. They were turning it up slowly, but it was still buried in there, I could hear it slightly before they turned it all the way up. I'm not sure it was even coming through the board at the beginning, I thought it was just in the headphones because when they turned it way up, it sounded like it was coming from a different source than the direct into the board feed. It's the same thing as the hearing tests you had to take in school as a kid, just a longer note than a short blip. You can also get relaxation apps that have sounds that are the opposite (binaural beats), and you can adjust them to lay just below the music bed, so you can't hear them, but if you really tried you could. Same principle, but with an annoying sound that makes people want to clear out of a mall. I guess they tune it to a 'teen' sound, but I still don't see how that works without freaking little kids out as well.

I only heard it towards the end too, remember that they were feeding a noise through their equipment that then comes out of your equipment so the pitch would be way different through your headphones than theirs. It seems there were some people that heard it the whole time, but I assumed that the audience could only hear the low hum towards the end.

I agree, I don't think the sound was in the board mix, just in the headphone mix at first.

I had to "punch out."
