No, see, the Opster was great at math and science, all his high school aptitude tests said so. If there's one thing he's not, it's fuhhcckin' stupid! Ugh.
He's not pretentious about it either. He's just a genuinely smart guy who's legitimately interested and retains the info well. Make's lil Jimmy look a bit too eager to compensate for something by comparison.
High school as I remember in the 90s If you were not in any honors classes or college credit classes, all you really had to do to graduate was simply show up for class. I would imagine it's far worse/easier now.
I don't want to get into the climate debate here, I just thought it would have been an interesting topic for them to engage in, but "it's not a problem YET" is part of being a denier.
I would have loved to hear him say that to Tyson. I'm sure he would have said "Well, we DO need to now." Maybe Anthony would have punted and that would have ended the conversation. Who knows. It was still a great discussion.
What many listeners don't understand is that Anthony never aged mentally passed the age of 17. Several times today when he jumped in with answers or questions reminded me of the eager student trying to impress his teacher and classmates that he knows a thing or two. Combine that with all his other habits: young girls, video games, parties, drinking, gadgets, etc it is clear that he's young at heart. Yet he gets criticized by haters that he doesn't act his age and "preys" on high school aged young ladies. The bottom line is that this fucking guy has the means to be who he really is, and listeners are either extremely jealous or completely retarded.
I agree with your point. Although I can't decide which of the smarts ant has. I think a tiny bit of each because in no way would I call him street smart.
Well he said all he had was missing was one gym class credit, so I don't think that that would have made him any smarter, it would have just allowed him to get a diploma. Big woop.
Yeah, even though I think his politics might stop him from being totally objective about some things, he seems to catch on to things pretty quick. Which is why he's never the one going "PAUSE HOLDON HOLDON HOLD-HOLY FFUUUHHHCCKK!"

and for a college graduate, Opie is very oblivious and fucking stupid.

Op was too busy blowin lines and puttin up numbers to concentrate on academics!

And pinching objects between his ass cheeks and walking about to the cheers of other men.

It has nothing to do with the time that I've listened to the show. It's just a funny comment when taken out of context.

I always chuckle when he tries to wrap his mind around something like water or airplanes and then Ant tries to explain, to no avail.

Going to College for "Broadcasting" is no different than not going to college... except it's more expensive.

I love how after having NDT in studio he randomly started being amazed by a homeless guy with shit in his pants...

I know you're just doing what you do, but at least Opie knows when he's in the deep end.

It sounds like he could have been a very good student if he didn't discover weed and vag so young.
30 EdmundRice 2013-10-24
Ironically, Anthony could really have done with less of his father in his life.

Guys rich as hell. Without a shit upbringing he's probably not the same person.
3 newmansg 2013-10-24
If he was black he would have really been something special indeed.

Ant dropped out, he didn't flunk out. It wasnt for lack of intelligence.
14 rahtin 2013-10-24
No matter how smart you are, if you miss half your classes and don't do any of your work, you still fail.
People with Down's Syndrome have graduated high school, it's not an IQ test, it's an obedience test.
-7 newmansg 2013-10-24
Don't sell it that short, it is still somewhat of an indicator of intelligence.

Lol I just realized Bobo has higher educational credentials than Ant. Truly proof that education doesn't necessarily matter.

The word you're looking for is auto-didact
4 newmansg 2013-10-24
It's one word, einstein.

I was waiting for Ant to ask DeGrasse whether he was conservative or liberal.
2 [deleted] 2013-10-24
I was just waiting for the subject of climate change to come up.
4 mancubuss 2013-10-24
Ant has said he doesn't agree with everything republican (gay marriage, social issues). I'd imagine this would be the same
5 [deleted] 2013-10-24
He's a very outspoken "climate denier ." Very.
0 rahtin 2013-10-24
Are you sure?
Everytime I hear him talk about climate change, he says that people will figure out a solution when we need to.

I love Sam's theory that ant is a young gay kid with suppressed feelings.
4 TheOtherMLK 2013-10-24
"Yes and every action has an equal and opposite reaction!!!" he was so excited it made me laugh
-4 pekingoose 2013-10-24
fuckin oath..A few times Ant was trying to translate Degrasse's layman's terms into some other type of layman's terms for us retards.
4 jettitor 2013-10-24
Ant is a smart guy, but don't confuse educational accomplishments with intellect. They're not as commonly correlated as most people believe.
This is an example book smart vs. street smart.
1 Danielson799 2013-10-24

0 fuckmerunningsidways 2013-10-24
"Street smart" was made up by thick people so they can feel better about being thick. There is no such thing.

For a topic, this one is retarded.
2 kentrel 2013-10-24
He watched a shitload of Star Trek. Best education.
1 CUNTYMOM 2013-10-24
this, anyone that watches a lot tv can sound smart in a conversation, ease on the brakes guys.
