"I just want the Jimmy and Anthony show"

Trust me, you don't. Although they're both great talents - Opie truly is the one that keeps it flowing as a cohesive radio program. The total lack of structure you'd get with an Ant & Jimmy show would negatively affect your listening enjoyment rather quickly, I'd think.

Opie steers the show and its something he's very good at.. to the point that most people don't even notice its being done. If you're a hardcore radio junkie like me you tend to notice a lot of it.. its actually kind of masterful the subtlety with which he pulls it off, at times. I'm not trying to say "Opie's the funniest guy in the room" - but Opie's most definitely the guy in the room who knows when a topic has run its course and needs time to percolate before being revisited (which is what makes the revisit that much more amusing)

Unless you want 4+ hours of racist tirades and "future Jimmy" who doesn't know what the hell he's talking about half the time you'll still want Opie there. The reason Jim and Ant's material work so well at times is because it isn't there 'all the time' - the show really needs the three of them together to work at a top notch level.

Note: I'm not saying Ant and Jim aren't talented enough on their own to do a show - I'm saying it would be a totally different thing that might very well not have many of the factors that makes O&A such a compelling show to listen to on a regular basis.

I read an interview where Fred Durst (i guess he signed Puddle Of Mudd) where he called them "the next Nirvana". Fuck Fred Durst, and fuck Puddle Of Mudd.

i believe fred durst was saying that as he was the one who got them signed and had a financial incentive to get them press/buzz however possible. btw i'm not defending fred durst, im not a fan, but i believe this was more marketing than opinion.

Yeah, Opie doesn't really know much about music. Last week, he was talking about Nirvana's performance on Live and Loud finally being released by MTV and he said he wasn't excited because "unreleased footage is unreleased for a reason." It was just weird to me that someone who calls themselves a huge Nirvana fan wouldn't know that that concert is considered to be one of their all-time best. Reading that back I realize no one should give a fuck, but I'm still going to post this anyway.

I liked today when they were trashing listeners for making fun of their appearance or clothes and then 2 MINUTES LATER they are making fun of Auntie Howard's pics about his appearance and clothes.
