The End Of Wackbag?

The domain has expired. Is this the end of another WNEW staple? Has this site even been relevant as of late?

How did your message board die?
It's back up now, you overeager silly geese. And nowadays Wackbag is about more than O&A. We do lots of OT shit on there.

I made some of the greatest friends on wackbag.
I hope it never sees an end.

oamessageboard.com
It's up, someone just didn't renew that domain.

Something I've never fully understood, was what happened to make O&A hate the site? Was it "whining fans" as they call it? Remember Dugout Doug and the like? They just disappeared and I never really understood why. Back in the early XM days, Anthony would post on the fucking messageboards DURING THE SHOW! I'll never forget him doing it during the Jimmy/Opie fight... so damn funny.
I still check Wackbag from time to time, but I think for O&A, this subreddit works well for me.

I think Wackbag went the way of most traditional forums, and became a cesspool. The signatures, the post counts, the avatars, it all contributes to one's ego, and then a weird dominance hierarchy forms, and then infighting and ego battles happen, and then the majority of the userbase leaves for a better place, and all that remains is a bunch of negative nancies.

Shit, this is a brilliant description of what happens on a message board. I've seen this happen on 3 different message boards over the past 10 years.

Cute

And all of that nonsense is gone now. Go figure.

No it's not.
5 wbfletcher 2013-09-23
Arent you the angry douche that gets downvoted constantly around here? Go fuck your mother. Or sign in over at wackbag and we can discuss this further.
I wont hold my breath.
-5 planet_bullshit 2013-09-23
Ooooh big tough boy telling me to fuck my mother, oooh you really got me
Sign in on wackbag? Why so you and your faggoty pals can circlejerk each other all over me, no thanks, I'm not interested in your typical weeknight.
4 wbfletcher 2013-09-23
I wasnt trying to "get" you, dummy. Just making a passing comment on how it seems you are the local dickhole in this sub.
And I just suggested that because I find it easier to navigate, I dont need to rally any "faggoty pals".
Circlejerk. The last line of insults for people who got nothing.

Meh can't say the last time I felt the need to go there. though I did like my user name there.
0 ixcuincle 2013-09-23
I forgot my PW there and even when I did know it I wasn't a regular visitor. Never saw the need to post there at the time

Wackbag to me was a pretty cool place in the heyday during O&A's prime, I posted every now and then but I did enjoy some of the stuff posted there.
Relevant? I don't think it needs to be, take what you want from it I suppose.

They're not in their prime? When did it end?

It's been gradual, but a combination of the Sirius-XM merger, the three of them getting old, and Opie having kids have all brought the show down a little. It's still a great show, but not what it was 5 years ago.
3 CAinCa 2013-09-23
If I recall the line correctly, although I am not sure if it was Anthony or Ron Bennington who said it but, calling what happened with Sirius and XM a merger is like saying Nazi Germany merged with Poland in 1939.
7 lunchboxg4 2013-09-23
That's a Ronnie B quote if I ever heard one.
1 CAinCa 2013-09-23
I thought so too but it referenced Nazis so I thought it might be Anthony
2 krbin 2013-09-23
I had XM at home and in the car and somebody else had Sirius in the office. XM was so far ahead of Sirius early on, I don't know how they ended up getting steamrolled in the 'merger'.

Sirius had a better business PR—XM had buzz and more subscribers, but Sirius had some corporate agents pulled from the venture capital area and floated a "team-up & conquer" scenario to XM. Sirius were pirates running a shell game of future earnings based on Howie, and the XM board & shareholders bit.
Took me a couple years to let go, but I finally flipped the stock the other day. Bittersweet, but glad I dumped before Stern retired.

So much better now than before. They can be vulgar now and some old stuff just seemed a bit forced at times.
-1 ixcuincle 2013-09-23
Now they just rant about music and the occasional boring topic. The show was better when Ant did his impressions of Greaseman and other such public figures. Waddle doodle, bone dry, bone dry.
1 [deleted] 2013-09-23
For me personally I'm gonna say 2008/2009, I tapped out on the show around 2010.

Zag fund raised the domain and hardware renewal. Probably just a hiccup.
0 greenlightning 2013-09-23
I almost forgot that existed
