I'd like to comment about David Lee Roth on Friday.

I used to find DLR to be really annoying. All of the "you follow"s and fucking pointless mindless bloviating really pissed me off. I totally understood why the rest of Van Halen can't have a conversation with him.

However, listening today I thought he was fascinating. What really grabbed me was his description of his lifestyle and diet. He was so thought out and deliberate about everything in his life. It was so interesting and I felt like, unlike most douchebag rockster/celebrity types, he was totally and completely legitimate and real.

It really surprised me. I almost didn't listen because sometimes he can really go off the rail with his random psychotic sounding tangents.

I don't think I know how others feel about him, so I thought I'd ask.

I, for one, thought he was always really irritating. Glad Florentine and Sam were there on Friday, and Silva was awesome. When he was on before, it was acceptable, because it wasn't for the majority of the show, and O&A were there. He took that studio and made it the "DLR Show" all day and wouldn't let Jim or Jim get a word in, edgewise. He kept talking over everyone elses jokes. He would interrupt people to start answering a question he thought they were asking, because he didn't wait for the full question to be asked. When Jim said he wanted to get Tyson for Fridays show, I started drooling thinking of what could have been. I still listened to the whole show, but I wish he could learn to shut up, sometimes.

I thought that was kind of what made him fascinating. He can talk about anything ad nauseum. It sounded like they were trying to trip him up asking about wrestlers and he pulled wrestler names out of his ass. Maybe he just caught me on a weird day that I think he's interesting?
