in defense of Opie... if Reddit wants him fired for a cake prank 7 years ago - it's relatively timely that the "Worst of" replayed the Al Roker making jokes about epilepsy several years ago.. let's see if Reddit wants Roker fired too...

While I like that you're defending the show, I think that would eventually hurt them in the long run. The whole point is we don't want ANYONE fired or reprimanded for words. If Al gets fired then that sets precedent for Jimmy to go when he makes a DS joke, Anthony when he says N, or Opie when he says stuff about Jewish people. Two wrongs don't make a right and reddit is full of a PC, stuck up, pussified culture who would probably want to fire Roker which would just leave the boys more susceptible to phony, fraudulent attacks. Let's just continue as normal and not give any credit or power to people like the subs on /r/video because if they get anyone fired or suspended they will never stop.

my apologies if the sarcasm didn't come through...

listening to the bit on the replay yesterday they equated the Roker-epilepsy "joke" to the Imus-Rutgers comment.. they read Roker's blog chastising Imus and substituted what Roker did for what Imus did.. and it fit perfectly..

i was working on that premise that we could "figuratively" sub the Roker scandal from several years ago for Opie's cake smash outrage from several years ago and get a chuckle out of it..

I was not literally thinking anyone would take it seriously and act upon it..
