Norton mentioned his single-camera sitcom idea to Rogan...(not unlike Louie or Curb)

He'd be playing himself - a sex addict perv, but he'd be a radio guy rather than a comedian.

He just said he's been working on stuff and he's having writer's block now.

I actually could envision a sparingly-used Chip character making sense here. I don't know if he's considered that though.

Got any ideas for Jim?

I think he should do an animated show on adult swim. The show would center around Chip and his neighbors. Uncle Paul, Edgar, Regular Joe, Valley Girl would all be neighbors played by Jim. Anthony and Opie could play his wealthy friends. Bobo could be a neighbor. Work in a President character who happens to sound a lot like Reagan. A conspiracy guy who sounds like Jessie Ventura. I would watch the shit out of that show.

Wouldn't be good to anyone but OnA fans.

Who cares about non fans? If Tim and eric can do a show on Adult Swim then Jimmy sure as hell can.

The people paying for it? Tim and Eric are very good in their niche medium, just like Jimmy is on his.

Jimmy was fantastic on Lucky Louie, but everything else pre-planned/written from him (including his stand up) is underwhelming compared to his off the cuff banter on the show.

where was this aired?

thanks, you're that guy with the youtube channel.

erg. I used to get emails all the time for when he was doing the ustream crap as well as ant. didn't get one for this particular episode.

I don't think he would use Chip on a TV show. Not as a regular character at least.

He said he has 9 episodes already written so that's enough for one season.

I actually think if Jim had a show similar to Louie or Curb....something that was shot single camera and feels realistic....the cartoonishness of a Chip or a regular Joe would work in some scenes of Jim going through mundane daily life.

Something like Chip as the doorman in Jim's building, trying to make smalltalk. or Regular Joe as the handyman.

and yes, the idea of seeing him interacting with himself (ala Peter Sellers or Eddie Murphy) would be an added layer of funny, even for non O and A fans.

would be a good idea, or have chip be his urkle character

Rule one is write what you know, so he has that base covered.

i'd love to see it but he can't act for shit. maybe given good direction r' sumptin'. tss...

He already said he's the lead. It's about his life, minus the standup.

The scenes can move to a scene about Jim.....to a scene not about Jim, but set on the street peripherally involving Jim's doorman "Chip".....or maybe Jim's radio show has an engineer not unlike Regular Joe.

Yea it's going to be good then if that's how it's laid out, I'll watch the hell out of that provided it's streamed.

I don't get all the creative suggestions. Louie showed it could work so good comics like Amy and Jefferies are following exactly in his footsteps. Good for them. You don't have to get lucky to sell out and have an Everybody loves Raymond shitcom anymore, with dumb characters and other bullshit. Sketches based in large part on the actual comedian: networks approve.

I was only making suggestions based on the fact jim said he doesn't want to be a standup on the show, since Louie already has that covered.

So maybe he just will get his observations about life out via his radio character on the air, but I figured he might be able to use peripheral characters as well.

Based on the 'party' video he wanted to do back when they were talking about that thanksgiving music video, I'd love to see Jim in a sitcom where he's a kid in high school. Possibly younger.

Basically a show like Full House and Kimmy playing the Olsen Twins' type character. No reference (from other characters) to his being a middle age man pretending to be a child, he'd interact with the kids his 'age'; Go to school, get into all sorts of hijinks, then the episode will change with just one really creepy/disturbing twist towards the end that gets completely played off by everyone else next week.

Show schmow. I put a show on for my guys at the site as crew chief. That's the only show I needa put on.
