Anyone else annoyed that the entire Troy/Zito conversation was about the use of the word faggot? I feel like there were more interesting things to bring up about it.
19 2013-08-01 by andrewsj1
For instance, Troy absolutely losing his mind at the drop of a hat and have a no substances freak out. That was a pretty heated argument and they're just hung up on that he said faggot. Also, he didn't come in to explain what happened to the guys in person. Could he be suspended or something?

Well instead of saying intelligible shit all Troy could say was you're a faggot. Clearly he lost that argument but you know he feels that he won by shouting faggot 100 times. He's the worst. When was the last time you got into an argument and called someone a faggot? That's what they should be talking about.
7 247world 2013-08-01
Troy is immature and has issues - there is more behind this than a dislike for a fellow employee
2 andrewsj1 2013-08-01
That's what I mean. They spent the whole time really just defending the use of the word faggot in the context. To be honest, idk if its a Boston thing but everyone says faggot around here. It's just a nondescript insult like calling someone an idiot or an asshole. I mean i could defend it saying "dude come on, you know i mean faggot like stupid, not like gay" but troy was like vividly saying "you suck dicks" so i guess kina hard to get out of that one. EITHER WAY, all I want to know is was he fired?
3 GleepGlorpFloopdedoo 2013-08-01
No, it's not a Boston thing. Troy's not from Boston, is he? Oh fuck please say no.
2 Chip--Chipperson 2013-08-01
Yeah Troy was clearly trying to insult him sexually, which is fine, but in a PC world you can't anymore because you have to pretend that dudes fucking each other is ok, which it is, but no one looks at a queer and thinks about how masculine he is, which is what troy was trying to say that Zito isn't a man. Troy in turn is a huge man because he's willing to fuck Zito so hard to prove Zito is a faggot.

yes I know there are exceptions to the rules
1 PullingTeeth1 2013-08-01
So he's implying that Zito isn't a man by calling him gay? Yet he respects and thinks its completely fine to be homosexual... Since there is nothing wrong with being gay, being called a faggot shouldn't bother you in the slightest. A straight white man should react to being called a faggot the same way he would react to being called a nigger, it's completely irrelevant to you as a person. Which I'm assuming Ronnie was getting at. Also the whole censorship argument that Troy brought up is so utterly asinine... It's about being fucking considerate and sympathetic to people around you and understanding that people probably had to hear that word screamed at them as they were being beat up and bullied. Omitting it from your vocabulary is not that big of a deal... To just spew it out in anger like that hurts people, which we saw with Fez(though he can be oversensitive.) All in all I was disappointed at O&A for taking the stance that they did and for going out of their way to defend that jerk.
Edit: wow that comment was kinda long.
2 Chip--Chipperson 2013-08-01
Yeah I agree, I just listened to the Wed. show today and they were kissing troy's ass... probably because his job is on the line right now so they had to of course play like it was no big deal. I completely understand calling someone a straight man a faggot as an insult because the word faggot is just a harsh word, but Troy was specifically meaning you suck dicks you fucking faggot dick sucker.. trying to bring zito down to homosexual level like its a bad thing.
They just have to act like it was no big deal because it was... I don't think troy hates gays, but he sees them as less than a person. It's like calling Zito white trash... there are plenty of white trash people and we all look down at them.

Ron is such a shit stirrer. He wasn't wrong in his interpretation of the use of the word but goddamn was he stirring that pot real good

For a guy in his mid-30s, Troy really relies far too heavily on the tactics found in "Junior High Schoolyard Fighting for Dummies" which is too bad, because I genuinely find 'Down for Whatever' Troy to be highly entertaining, albeit as a piece of the larger group conversation about his antics. When he decides to confront/attack someone though...it's just pathetic. The DeRosa situation for example, regardless of how you feel about the Teen Sensation, Joey Roses tried to approach the situation in the way the boys and comics do when they engage in vicious but ultimately good natured and funny bashings, but it got ugly fast when Troy took it to a super-aggressive, repetitive angry insult heaving place that turned into him challenging Joe to "take it outside". Which he does every time any kind of conflict with a non "star" occurs. If it's schtick on Troy's end, it's bad schtick. If it's serious, dude has some insecurity/temper issues he really should leave at the studio door because it makes for shit radio, which is really what matters here. Not just the spazzing itself, but the ridiculous, overly long (and at times very contradictory) rundown that was done this morning.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but Primetime was actually hilarious during that whole fiasco. Fuckin Sam, making me like him. That may be Troy's biggest transgression yet.
3 ixcuincle 2013-08-01
What I got from that whole argument yesterday: Troy just likes to yell and fight with everyone. He's a confrontational dick who loves to fight with verbal jabs. It's not all about arguing with people and yelling in your annoying voice.
1 Yam_Bag 2013-08-01
I get the feeling that some day Troy is going to try this with the wrong guy. In the middle of calling the guy names and telling him that he's going to kick his ass he'll just get punched in the face.
2 andrewsj1 2013-08-01
I like Sam. Good radio ppl r rare. Theres 2 radio shows I like. OnA and Toucher and Rich in Boston. I hope everyday that TnR could sign for like afternoon drive on the OnA channel. They're funny as hell and I'm pretty sure OnA like them.
2 flintskins 2013-08-01
I've never heard them but I've seen others say good things.
I joke about Sam but I've really come around to liking him a lot. I really, REALLY despised him for a long time, his voice especially, but the guy has really come a long way and is going to be a great radio guy I think. I don't even mind his stupid voice anymore. As long as he doesn't talk about rap, of which he knows fuck all. Otherwise, he's a good shit.
7 ixcuincle 2013-08-01
Sam and Travis are the two best staff members. They get on my nerves sometimes, but they provide more to the show than co-workers that spend their time yelling at everyone.
8 thefirebuilds 2013-08-01
in spite of the shit he gets I imagine Erock carries his weight.

5 TheDisastrousGamer 2013-08-01
One of Sam's biggest (and oft overlooked strengths) is he's a great storyteller. His pee in the car story, and his 'stand up' were great radio. I don't doubt that he'll eventually move on to bigger and better (as in more mainstream) things, as soon as he leaves Sirius.
4 Holzmann 2013-08-01
I was the same way. Pre-2009 I really disliked Sam on the radio, but nowadays you have to be crazy to not appreciate his on-air talent. He rarely stumbles over words, he always knows how to clearly and logically present a topic or ask a question, he takes every ballbusting thrown at him, and he's a master at subtly pushing someone's buttons. He's probably one of the most talented people at Sirius/XM.
1 Danielson799 2013-08-01
Toucher and rich are great. Amazing how they came into boston on a sports station, talked sports when it was important or relevant, and killed those old racist republican douches on EEI.
Edit:spelling.
2 andrewsj1 2013-08-01
Ya they're the only sports show i can stand.
here's an awesome clip of a guy saying they aren't sports experts and he just slams the whole idea of "sports experts"
But they came in like 4 years before. They were on WBCN afternoons, when OnA on KROQ were on syndicated on mornings. Then they went to Mornings and when BCN got shut down (like every other rock station) they were the only show that stayed. Guess it worked out, they're #1 in mornings like every ratings cycle.
But it's like I said, they are WAY too funny for sports radio. I know they prolly have way more job security but I think they're funny enough to do syndicated talk on current events like OnA.
10 VeritablyClean 2013-08-01
As much as I hate Troy this is only gonna hurt the show. If he gets canned, they won't be getting a new producer.
Edit: Also, for all the shit Troy gives DeRosa, Troy is the most uninspired, boring ass insulter ever. Faggot faggot getting pumped out faggot
YAWN
2 andrewsj1 2013-08-01
I know I almost cracked my teeth biting down out of sheer cringe. It's like really? You're just gona berate the guy for 15 strait minutes and say nothing of substance. Like if he came out and said calmly "fuck you, you're a 2 timing snake because of A, B, C, D." then I would get it, but it was just a nonstop bunch of horseshit a 13 year old on COD would say.

10 thefirebuilds 2013-08-01
Fez is absolutely right, Troy would have never used certain other words on Zito as he believes a black man would pulverize his face but doesn't respect that a gay man could.
8 pekingoose 2013-08-01
Listening to it again on today's show Quan the douche sounded like an even bigger dickhead. The Zito dude clearly come off looking like the winner just by keeping his cool even though the boys defended the douche and his use of the fag word. And his lame "sort of apology" to the Fezster was fuckin embarrassing. He should have worked it out with Fez off the air or not at all.
5 247world 2013-08-01
Fez brought it to the air and really gave Troy no choice - I also think he may have realized how out of control he was and was pulling a CYA maneuver
I'd be surprised if HR wasn't involved - the old it was for the air won't cover some of the remarks he made
4 thefirebuilds 2013-08-01
He has a right to stand up for his beliefs. Troy believes that homosexuality is a put down.
7 247world 2013-08-01
I also wondered where Troy was for this discussion - not a word was said by anyone about his absence
I'm surprised they didn't play Ron saying the GF attack was out of line --- Opie has always defended 'civilians' and he'd have to agree with Ron on that
Troy was raging - all I could think was on or off air this was going to be an HR issue - he made threat of violence and even said he knew exactly where Zito lived
think Rock Star needs an out of work production guy?
3 Chip--Chipperson 2013-08-01

hard to keep secrets in the O&A world, expect we will have an idea soon
2 GleepGlorpFloopdedoo 2013-08-01
I'm sure he was told to take a breather from being on air.
5 bcb77 2013-08-01
Well, Troy made the whole argument about Zito being a "faggot" and his girl getting "pumped out" by other guys. He should have stuck to the original point of Zito being a snitch to management and sleeping during the show in Montreal.
3 EdgarsTeethAreDry 2013-08-01
They addressed that it was basically a schoolyard argument, yet they acted like that's normal and not completely fucking stupid. Troy didn't have a valid reason to just yell childish insults and tough guy posing stuff other than the fact that he's a douchebag. Zito is too, but he didn't do anything that would justify Troy blowing up and not making a coherent argument. Opie at the beginning said "Well if Zito was blowing kisses at him, that's going to set him off", but then later on when Troy says he was the one who started blowing kisses, he didn't address it. It was irritating. Ronnie at least did acknowledge how stupid it was.
3 Chip--Chipperson 2013-08-01
I feel like they had to make zito the bad guy because Troy's job was hanging in the balance. I could tell Anthony wanted to go to town on Troy, probably because he's a faggot.
2 andrewsj1 2013-08-01
Ya. Idk troy is like "cool guy" and if your not hangin lose (aka if you're acting normal at fucking work) you're just an asshole.
2 AlienAssBabies 2013-08-01
I don't see why Fez as an asexual was offended. I don't give a fuck about Troy but I hated hearing Fez push the unsafe angle. He sounded like he was trying to get Troy fired which is bullshit.
6 thefirebuilds 2013-08-01
Fez is not asexual, Fez is just smart enough not to bring his relationships to the air.
0 [deleted] 2013-08-01
Fez was pulling the "I'm offended" card that Opie, Anthony, and Jimmy rail against all the time. You have the right to be offended but don't use to try and cost someone their job. That's what Fez is doing.
I don't like Troy, but if he gets fired because of Fez's cunty complaining then I won't listen to the Ron and Fez show anymore. I love me some Ronnie B., but I'm getting really really tired of Fez.

No, but here is an accurate transcription:

Zito: "Ur tattoos. So mad."
Rinse, repeat.

You have to admit.... staff fights were so much better when Steve was around. - I fixed it for you.
1 GleepGlorpFloopdedoo 2013-08-01
Yeah? Did ya?
I dunno, I always sort of felt bad for Steve. I always thought he got a raw deal, and his contributions were pretty solid for the most part. OTOH, Danny was so undeniably hateable that it just made it easier to rally behind whoever was fighting him.
2 TheDisastrousGamer 2013-08-01
True, but the ones with Steve (if I recall properly) seemed a bit more lighthearted, that at the end of the day, nobody goes home truly angry. With Danny & Troy on the other hand, grudges seem to last a lifetime. Roland fights are good because Roland seems to just panic the entire time.
1 [deleted] 2013-08-01
Is Troy the newest member of Westboro Baptist?
0 [deleted] 2013-08-01
Honestly it probably wouldn't have even been brought up (the word usage, not the argument) if crybaby Fez didn't make a big deal about it.
0 ixcuincle 2013-08-01
The show should be less about staff members bitching at each other, and more about the discussion of the news. The staff members should do their jobs and stay off-air. Let the talent on air speak.
When the staff comes on, it usually devolves into this kind of dumb wrangling and arguing, usually spurred on by Troy. Troy's only purpose on the show now is to start fights and yell at people. I see enough of that on TV. I don't need to hear it on the show.
That being said, the argument and Troy's defense of the word went on so long, I wish they'd move on and talk about something else.
-1 2400 2013-08-01
Any Ron and Fez fan knows how fucking annoying Mark "Narc" Zito is. He used to work for them in 2011. No one in that channel likes him.
3 andrewsj1 2013-08-01
I know, and if Troy came at him a better way we could get behind it. But he was full blow douching out. His 15 minute tirade had pretty much zero substance.
-1 Risergy 2013-08-01
I agree. I honestly didn't think that was the angle they were going to take today. The words used were the last thing on my mind after that debacle... Which says a lot about Fez' mind. I love ya big guy but if all you got out of that shitstorm was "homophobia," you're clearly looking for something to bitch about.
I don't know if he was suspended or not. What I understand from listening to O&A all these years, on-air and off-air fights really do carry different consequences. But maybe since Troy clearly freaked the fuck out and -- in a lot of peoples opinion -- crossed a line, maybe he's not allowed on-air for a while. And maybe taking the angle of Fez' reaction to the argument instead of what happened to Troy is their way of acknowledging the subject without addressing the behind the scenes shit.
But I'm just being a rambling, speculative jizz-bucket right now. Who the fuck knows.
1 andrewsj1 2013-08-01
Ya, you were... But I was thinking the same thing. Maybe suspended from the air.
-6 [deleted] 2013-08-01
I can't believe actual fans are calling for Troy to lose his job because he dropped the word 'faggot' a bunch. So I suppose the next time either Opie, Ant, or Jim slips up and uses an 'offensive' word derogatorily during an argument they should be fired again too? Fuck you faggots.
10 Chip--Chipperson 2013-08-01
Yeah that's not the point at all.
8 andrewsj1 2013-08-01
You clearly missed the point of all of this. No one gives a shit that he said faggot. That's why I'm annoyed that it's all OnA talked about. They should have addressed how insane he got. I mean they brushed it off as "ya when guys argue da da da" but Troy really did fly completely off the handle.
2 fuckfackmcgoo 2013-08-01
The reason they talked about his use of "faggot" is because Fez made a big deal about it. None of them even mentioned his use of the word until they played the Ron and Fez clip.
Fez was legitimately crying on the air before they brought Troy in to talk, he really needs to get a hold of himself.

4 andrewsj1 2013-08-01
Ok. But I still think the VAST majority aren't of that school of thought.
1 ixcuincle 2013-08-01
Yeah he isn't losing his job over that. I'd like for it to happen, simply because Troy is a gigantic jackass, but it ain't happening
3 TheDisastrousGamer 2013-08-01
Easy. Because there's a difference when someone says to stop acting like a fag, or that someone's being a fag for being whiny. But when someone at a near yell tells some that they are a faggot, they suck dicks, their girlfriend is a whore, and I'm going to kick your ass, that's a different case entirely.
-5 [deleted] 2013-08-01
It was good radio. Its not your boring job over at the Sock Emporium.
3 TheDisastrousGamer 2013-08-01
Was I discussing if it was good radio or not, or if Troy was being a total asshole who was crossing the line?
PS. Working at the Sock Emporium rules. Besides, what does what I do have to do with what someone neither of us knows does for a living? What does my livelyhood have to do with the value of my worth?
0 [deleted] 2013-08-01
My point is you're looking at it if this happened at your job. The radio is a completely different environment. These things happen and they make for good radio. You couldn't walk into your shitty job at the Sock Emporium and start calling co-workers you dislike faggots. Obviously. However, when the channel says Opie & Anthony, and its a radio show there tends to be some leniency towards going off the handles. And as far as Troy goes he may have been an asshole but Zito instigated the whole thing. It got personal on air but those things happen in passionate moments. If Zito can't handle that then don't come over and start shit while Troy is on air. Its obviously a personal thing between the two of them, and it would have mostly remained that way had Zito not walked over and blew kisses.
1 TheDisastrousGamer 2013-08-01
No, I'm not looking at it from the Sock Emporium. I'm looking at it from an HR standpoint which does include the liberties that a radio show such as Opie & Anthony are afforded. If Zito really wanted to push the issue, I'm sure he could, due to the tone and cadence of Troy's voice. When the Homeless Charlie incident happened, it was or should have been clear to everyone what the context and intent of the discussion was. There was no joy, humor, or sense of kidding in Troy's voice.
0 [deleted] 2013-08-01
Zito doesn't have much ground to stand on here. He instigated the issue by coming over and blowing kisses, and if you ask me it was purposeful. If he didn't want a private issue to surface he shouldn't have walked over, and blew kisses knowing Tory was on air & in studio. Zito wanted this to be on the radio. He knew what he was doing. He wanted the air time. It also wasn't supposed to be joyful. They actually don't like each other. What did you expect? To me it sounded like a normal argument between two men. No one got physical. There was talk of fighting, but Troy also said he would fuck Zito to prove Zito is gay. Its the god damn Opie & Anthony channel. They got Troy's back. If Zito is smart he'll just shut the fuck up about the whole thing & so will Fez. Again, Zito has ZERO ground to stand on with HR. It was a calculated move on Zito's part and get Troy riled up on the radio and it worked. Now go back to selling socks.
2 TheDisastrousGamer 2013-08-01
Selling socks? We're too busy at the Sock Emporium giving your slutty G/F pink socks to worry about selling socks. She's a whore, but I'm sure you are OK with it because you are a gay homosexual to whom a percentage of your peers could best in a physical altercation.
Regardless, that's my personal take. No amount of you getting all butthurt that someone has a different opinion will change what I feel about this incident.
-1 [deleted] 2013-08-01
Getting butt hurt? Slow down buddy. No one's really that butt hurt. Maybe you're getting upset but I thought two people were just expressing different point of views. Can't take a joke about the sock thing? No wonder your overly sensitive about two men arguing.
1 pekingoose 2013-08-01
For a start Troy started blowing the kisses. Thirdly ,If Sam had a gay guest in the studio at the time how do you think that would have looked.5th point ,there could have been any number of fags working at Sirius who heard the speech and any number of guests who were visiting other shows at the time who might have been offended. If troy gets in the shit it will be because of the way he has made Sirius look internally not because of what went out on the air.And finally....
-1 [deleted] 2013-08-01
Nah Zito walked over and blew kisses at Troy. Go re listen to the whole thing again. There was no gay guest in studio so that point doesn't count. We're not going to sit around and play 'what if's' because that has nothing to do with what actually happened. Nothing is going to happen to Troy. The boys got his back on this issue. Did you not hear the show? Nothing will happen internally. The boys say things that will upset 3/4's the SiriusXM staff on a daily basis. It was an on air argument in the O&A studio. Its not like the fight took place in the lobby of the building. Also, if you're going to list your points in order from first, second, third and so on.... at least learn to fucking count.
2 pekingoose 2013-08-01
fourthly, Troy started blowing kisses first.maybe you should listen to the show. Thirdly they only upset 5/4 of the staff weekly.
0 [deleted] 2013-08-01
I just listened to the audio again and guess what? You're wrong. Sam and Troy were talking about the ICP gathering. Sam asks Troy if he's excited and Troy answers aggressively "yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah..." then says "I wanna see what this little faggot has to say... blowing me kisses" in reference to Mark Zito who was blowing Troy kisses. So maybe you should listen to the show. Need the audio isolated? I can do that too.
0 tryjm87 2013-08-01
Troy blew the kisses.
