Backpedaling spineless Jimmy again?

I know some people bitch about Jimmy willing to accept certain things and think he's not giving up freedom. But today he said even though Bloomberg is an ass he still wanted to help people not get so fat from drinking soda (horrible paraphrasing). I'm tired of Jimmy thinking we should just let things slide because we're changing and it's not like it used to be. I do understand some of his arguments like if a bomb gets on a plane you can't survive a crash from 30,000 feet. However with stuff like the 2nd amendment, stop & frisk, and checkpoints he is took lackadaisical about "well it's not that big a deal". Also to his credit so I'm not smashing him people biggest privacy threats come from themselves not the govt.

Every time Jimmy says something nowadays it is dissected and criticized. Lighten up.

Honestly I find his Bloomberg bashing, as well as Intellectual Jimmy time, one of the best parts of the show. It bring a humorous and insightful view on newsworthy topics.

i think what people fail to realize is they have the same contradictory thoughts on subjects, but its never really brought to light because you aren't on the radio 20+ hours a week. maybe not on this particular issue, but I know for myself I go back and forth on and number of things, and depending on the situation I might flip flop, or have contradictory thoughts too. i give jimmy the benefit of the doubt. he's a comedian paid to be entertaining. he's not paid to be an intellectual which is why i don't care when jimmy goes against something he's said before.

He's restricting what people are allowed to sell instead of letting the free market do it's work. He's doing that WHILE the city is constantly raising fees and taxes to get more money out of people.

He isn't consistent and is very cool with giving shit up to feel safe. It's annoying to hear him whine about people who don't want a finger up there ass to go somewhere. But it doesn't matter that much.

I guess I don't take his views all that seriously. Even if they are not well-thought out points that he makes, they're at least somewhat of a counterpoint to most of Ant's stupid rants.

I think you can really tell what Jim really believes in by how vehemently he argues certain things. He is not very vehement about a lot of these counterpoints that he makes - and fans know it - so I do believe that he's just lobbing softballs up there, but how horribly boring would it be if it were just a bunch of guys in an echo chamber for 4 hours?
