This made me smile. I always liked Steve.

I've worked for a number of years at a camp for kids with disabilities, and I'm able to hook my computer up to these loudspeakers that play through the dining hall and across the camp. Last year, I began playing "Don't Worry, Bear Happy" almost on a daily basis, usually at breakfast. People loved it and it was a happy way to start the day!

This is awesome. Chock full of references. "Bob Kelly Was Here" on the sink was top-notch.

That's terrible, I'm sorry.

How did it happen? God love him.

I sure hope MJ lives to an old age, otherwise that poor kid is going to have people going to up to him all the time asking "How'd your parents die?"

I don't get it.

Steve was in a movie. His line was "how did your parents die" ,when told ,he responded "thats terrible, im sorry."

Since when were wild bill's crazy skits movies?

It wasnt wild bill it was USA network movie.

No. It wasn't.

The Foundry cog is really on the headstone? It just reminds me of how ahead of the curve steve was for a while, being willing to host videos early on.

That cant be the Foundry Music logo... It's much too small.

Can we contact the afterworld and see if there's an exchange program? Danny for Steve, straight swap.

I think Bill Burr right afterwards said, "when is somebody I don't like going to die?"

Throw Sam in for Patrice and we've got a deal.

yeeeeeess

Capri pants in heaven. RIP.

Did we ever get a definitive answer on what happened to poor ol' Steve? Was it suicide? Hints have been dropped...

Someone on wackbag reported they were doing a walk for suicide prevention with Steve's widow, and after that some people close to the situation pretty much confirmed it. Unbelievably sad.

Been discussed - consensus seems to be suicide. Sad as fuck

Yeah - 1974 just looks recent on a tombstone.

Huh?

The year 1974 looks too recent for a person's birth on a tombstone. It doesn't seem that long ago to me.

Yep, that's what it'll say on mine someday :/

Have any reasons been mentioned?

Nothing officially mentioned, but tidbits I picked up from listening for years:

After he was let go by SiriusXM he went to work at a radio station, and he was happy but due to economics they reduced staff and most recent employees were let go, including him.

After a while he finally got another job at a different station.

The boys had heard that the new station flipped formats, and soneone mentioned that Steve was a casualty yet again. I think Jim or Opie asked how Steve was holding up, and the answer was "not good" and "not taking it well", and the boys quickly moved on.

Around a month later he was dead, and they mentioned how his wife was "so angry that he did that".

I feel it's clear he was depressed that he had a wife and young son that he could not support, the industry he made a career out of was dying and reducing staff consistently so jobs prospects were incredibly bleak.

Got too be too much for him.

There was also the time Jim said that after a few drinks he would become "Steve Suicidal," then felt really guilty and said he didn't mean to say that name.

And every time he'd get brought up, Op and Ant would just say, "Oh Steve, Steve, Steve, Steve." Like they were disappointed.

Plus, Steve's wife asked for donations to a Suicide Prevention foundation, so....

He had complications with his stomach stapling surgery from a while back

EDIT: Why is this getting down voted? It's what happened isn't it? I guess I legitimately missed something. I always thought that was the reason, whoops I guess.

Jimmy said it once during a show but it was cut away from the replays. They also had economical problems since he was let go when the channel he worked for flipped formats.. Sad.

During the live show a while back Jimmy was joking around and let a detail slip. During a rant/adlib Jimmy said "Steve Suicide" Along the same lines as "Chatty Cathy, Nervous Nelly" etc.

He immediately apologized after an awkward silence and the comment was deleted from the replay.

Hahaha, wow. I thought the foundry logo being on his tombstone was a joke till now.

RIP Steve C

It makes you think if Sirius had kept him on the show, he'd probably still be alive right now.

Fuck, it's been so long.

Steve was always a trooper even though they bashed the fuck out of him.

I miss the dude.

booooooooooo.... boooooooooo.... I'm haunting you.... boooooooo

So whattya guys think? His jaw drop yet?

As horrible as that is, it made me laugh. I just pictured Anthony, being uncomfortable with the somber atmosphere, dropping that in and Jimmy laughing his balls off at the impropriety.

Thank you sir, that's what I was going for.

RIP Steve. May your Prius take you to happiness.

Yessssss

Christ that's sad. He was a good guy.

Grrr.......

Always thought it was weird how I found this so depressing. Guy was really lively. Then he's just gone. Same with Patrice.
