The most irritating thing about that is Jimmy's tendency to always play devil's advocate lately. It's like he forces himself to do it for some reason and then doesn't have anything meaningful to say. "Profiling is okay unless it turns out you're wrong" "Zimmerman did nothing against the law but he should still have been convicted of something". I have no idea what he's doing
Agreed. Jim sounded an like idiot, or an uninformed overly emotional black woman. There was no rational thought behind what he was saying at all!
This was Jim today: "I don't like Zimmerman, or that Trayvon died, so I would have preferred that he gone to prison for something, even if he didn't do anything illegal." And on it went like that for fucking hours...
What I was getting at was that I feel like I've heard jimmy state before that is okay to profile muslims because of what has happened in the past. But now in this case its a huge deal to him that George profiled trayvon.
Jimmy is so infuriatingly stupid when he gets into debates like this, constantly contradicts himself, he's hypocritical and tries so hard to make himself sound intelligent using long words.
There are much much much more people saying this is a travesty and cheering that Zimmerman's life is ruined and that he will eventually get what's coming to him. Even the celebrities are doing this on twitter. I don't pity Martin's family because they know they raised a thug. They know who the real Trayvon Martin is and this shouldn't have surprised them. They are playing dumb here. You know his family easily could have gone to jail if they let West and O'Mara use the text messages found on Trayvon's phone? The implications of the texts were that one of Martin's family members were helping him get an illegal firearm and Rachel Jeantel knew about it. They got very lucky. They got their million dollar settlement and the mom owns the rights to Trayvon's image so it's clear where they priorities lie.
Yea I avoided listening so far today cuz from the rundown I read it just seemed like it might be a tedious listen. I found something better to do I'm reading the book by Russ Baker, Bush Dynasty: Family of Secrets. recommend for everyone.
We cut cable a few years ago and sometimes I regret it and then I think "well I'm not giving a penny to those cunts" and it takes away some of the sting.
That being said, you are right in that you shouldn't base arguments on talking heads. Most people just got their opinions off talking heads and cable news networks, when...if they looked at the facts, they'd see Zimmerman was clearly not guilty. The cable news networks are despicable.
This is going to be one of those days where I'm glad I don't listen to it live. I'll just download later today and fast-forward past the first hour or so. Not that I disagree with the verdict, I'm just tired of hearing them talk about it.
Nope, I'm excitedly waiting for the Audible upload to be available specifically so I can listen to it. I want to hear some sensible discussion and not this media pity party justification that has been on the airwaves the last two days.
I think ants gonna try keep this topic alive for another week or two and its probably gonna suck balls cause hes hoping a riot will occur somewhere which will reinvigorate the whole thing and give him a chance to yell and say "SAVAGES". I think hes genuinely dissapointed that there hasnt been flash mobs and looting connected to this yet.
There's not much to talk about now, except Holder vaguely suggesting that the feds might get involved, which is stupid
Fuck. O&A are at their best when they talk about the news. They did beat the Zimmerman case into the ground, though, just like every other news outlet. Without the trial to discuss...they might actually have to bring Troy Quan in studio again to pick fights with other people. Ugh.
I hate all the law talk, I couldn't be less interested, but I hope Judge Alex makes more appearances. He's a good judge.
But yeah, all this talk was about a case which was highly overrated and has very little ramification in society (let's be honest, will this case be written in history books for future law students to study...is this case even on the level of Brown V. Board of Education?)
Hopefully they move on today...although I get the feeling that with less "newsworthy" trials to spend an hour talking about, that hour will be spent rambling about music...or even worse, having irritating staff on air.
Absolutely. It has been an absolute chore to try and listen the past couple of weeks. Do they just not care anymore? It sounds like people from both opinions are getting fed up.
I tuned in but had to tune out when they had the other Zimmerman on. I'm not wound up about the verdict or anything I just can't stand that guy's voice. Some people just have awful voices.
really? you talking about the guy who admitted wanting to fuck his first cousin on live radio and then in front of her and her son too. Didnt realise that makes someone a great american.

I have skipped the last couple of shows just because Ant & Jim just say the same shit every time they talk about it.

Is wrong to profile except when it's Muslims on a plane.

No, profiling is okay, as long as it proves that you were right about the person you were profiling.

I turned it on this morning, heard Ant say something like "then he got out of his car" and immediately changed the station. Jesus, I'm tired of this.

My favorite thing about ant and yimmy talking about race is opie in the background playing candy crush
1 jeffedge 2013-07-15
As annoying as jimmy and ant going back and forth is, opie putting his phone with that music close to the mic is worse.

Turned it off at 6:40am. They were beginning the same conversation as every day last week. Enough is enough...
6 KR1288 2013-07-15
I haven't listened in about a week because of it
6 GleepGlorpFloopdedoo 2013-07-15
Yes, I actually listened to sports radio until Ron and Fez were on.
3 whiteguyernie 2013-07-15
How was fez today? I get the show on Audible so I haven't heard it yet

that was the really weird part of this. seeing my FB & twitter feeds loading up with people gloating like it was them that got off on these charges.
4 Slippery_Slope_Guy 2013-07-15
That's odd. My facebook feed was full of crocodile tears from rich and middle class white liberals telling everyone how racist the country is.

Everything I said is factual. This is why you liberals are brain dead. You can't see anything logically and need to add a fanatical, emotional spin.

Fast forwarded Zimmerman's brother, cant stand that smug cunt.
3 KR1288 2013-07-15
I like how people call this "real discussion about race".
Yes. Nothing screams intelligent conversation like 2 high school dropouts and a middle aged man playing candy crush.
The fuck outta here with this.
3 Slippery_Slope_Guy 2013-07-15
Have you seen the shit they do on cable news? It's even worse and those people are supposedly well educated.
