This is really the heart of why patrice was amazing. He laughed at ANYTHING he knew deserved it. No offense taken where some people would be like "is ck really saying this?". A true comic's comic. He understood what funny meant so well.
No, I'm pretty sure 99% of comics would have laughed in that moment, blacks included. I loved Patrice too but there's no need to constantly circlejerk over him.
