David was a perfect storm of ineptitude, entitlement, arrogance, and a complete lack of self-awareness that organically grew into the retarded radio legend he is today. If they tried to recreate that by only hiring interns with "David potential" I feel like they'd just fail miserably.

Actually I think that it was alluded to that Sam chose David purely because he was completely useless, and Sam himself was an intern too so it's not like there's no potential in picking people who might make for good radio. It wouldn't have to be "the next David", just somebody who isn't vacuous and unfunny would be a start.

The way they were treating the guy intern this morning was disgusting. He actually sounded like he had a decent wit about him compared to the airheads in the studio, but yet he gets cast off like a red-headed stepchild because Ant doesn't find him rapeable, or he's not a "guy's guy" or whatever it is Opie wants from his interns. They killed a great appearance from Amy and Steve.

They really do need to find another retard completely lacking in self awareness. It's great radio.

For a few years Sam was the one that picked the interns and he specifically picked the ones that were weird and fun for his own purposes. Ever since he got relieved of his intern supervisor duties and Erock took over they have been more boring and, I guess, better qualified for the actual work part. The end result of Erocks picks is Sal. I like Sal but seriously, how do we have Sal (or Pips for that matter) and not Davey Mac?

Pepper Hicks is so much better at picking interns than Erock. Ron and fez' current intern class is killing it.

I'd be happy if they never wasted another minute talking to any interns on air. It's always, always felt like lazy radio to me, "there's nothing else going on so let's hear about the dull personal lives of this nobody." All of 'em, David, the liar intern from last summer, the guy who played Danny at Rockband, the two new girls, all of 'em.
