So long Danny. We will not miss you.
It's nice to hear some Steve clips that remind us that he was, in fact, good on the air and not a total punching bag.
It was alluded to on a few shows that he took liberties with access to having someones contact info, and was calling an unnamed person too much, I'm assuming a female. I could be way off here, but I swear they specifically said this a couple of different times as that being the reason - although sometimes it can be for several reasons and just took one thing to clinch it.
Really? That's odd, I could have sworn it was during a few different steve discussions. I could be totally wrong. I DO remember the Danny story like that, but that wasn't what I was thinking of. I may have combined two things though.

According to Opie's Twitter page on September 6th, 2010:
"Steve C wasn't fired by Sirius. His position was eliminated! That's right folks they eliminated the Producer position of our show!"
I used to yell "holy shit shut up, Danny!" at my radio like a crazy person every time I heard him talk. Everyone on the show had faults, but Danny was the only one that pulled actual hatred out of me. And this was before I started following O&A online, so I thought it must have been just me, because there's no way a radio show would keep a person like Danny on without him having some kind of redeeming quality.
Turns out I wasn't alone and his redeeming quality was he's Ant's drinking buddy.
I really don't know how much of a hand he had in production behind the scenes, but I do know the show doesn't reflect the loss of Danny in anyway other than me no longer yelling at my speakers.

Why was Steve let go anyway? I don't know if I ever got a straight answer on that.

I think he was just deemed 'non essential' by the bean-counters. But I don't recall anything specific either.

I believe there were also implications that Danny had something to do with Steve's release.

I thought that was what people originally said about Danny, not Steve

Danny was the worst. Just a complete asshole with no redeeming value.

But he could Google.

I'd rather have Sam take two minutes to find what Danny could find in 20 seconds than have Danny in studio ever.
