Jimmy Doesn't Know Shit About UFC

7  2013-06-10 by [deleted]

Which is fine but the fact that he pretends to know anything about the sport frustrates me. When he said Roy Nelson only has one weapon (his striking) I almost lost it. Sorry Jim, Roy Nelson is primarily a Jiu-Jitsu guy who realized he can knock people out. People who can only strike do not make it to the quarterfinals of the ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championships. Dummy.

Love Jimmy, but he doesn't know shit about anything. When he's not doing gigs, I honestly don't think he does much else other than watch porn. It wouldn't bother me if he didn't speak so confidently about everything but that's a HUGE pet peeve of mine, listening to ignorant people speak authoritatively.

I can't speak for the UFC as I'm not qualified enough to talk about UFC, but Jimmy is actually one of the smartest people on the show. I think he's at his best when he's serious and discussing the news or political correctness, he does offer a lot of insight (i.e. the show's Bloomberg bashing, him modifying the laws to get an extra term in, etc). He's not really a sports expert, as he just bashes Romo like every other fan for "choking in big games", doesn't really provide anything in-depth. But when it comes to political affairs, the guy's a real expert.

I remember when he was talking about Syria and how we shouldn't get involved, he is adamantly against us being the world's policeman. To some extent, he was correct during that discussion, but we do need bases in South Korea due to contracts and agreements.

But when it comes to political affairs, the guy's a real expert.

You're trolling, right? He sincerely thought that Dennis Rodman as our ambassador and our shared interest in basketball could help to open up communication with North Korea.

I don't remember him saying that. But I'm telling you, American politics, he's the expert, as long as Chip doesn't make an appearance.

TSSSS COCK SUCKA OR SOMETHIN TSSSSSS TSSSS

Serious Jimmy is a great character.

A real expert? Oh boy, no. Jim heard Ron Paul talk about foreign policy once and suddenly thinks isolationism is god's gift to earth.

Okay.

If you want in-depth intellectual discussion on foreign affairs, you might want to listen to NPR or watch something else. Opie And Anthony do a fair job of analyzing the news considering they are not exactly high-brow radio for intellectuals.

I never said I want in-depth intellectual discussion, but if Jimmy was an expert as you claim then you could at least expect if from him. However him pontificating on matters he clearly knows very little about is not enjoyable. It's the same deal with when he talks about the future.

I'll give you the foreign policy but he does know what he's talking about in comedy, heckling, the radio business, political correctness, American politics, and Bloomberg.

For instance, it was great to hear him talk about his debate he had with the other comic about rape. Thought he did a very good job there. Also, Jimmy has done a pretty good job at debunking conspiracy theorists, he angered Ventura so much with his questions that Ventura lost it and walked off the show. I don't think he's as stupid or dumb as many people put him out to be.

That being said, the guy is a stand-up comic and not much intellectual discussion should be expected from an entertainment show. And at least Jimmy doesn't yell over people like Ant does, and his opinions aren't as radicalized as Anthony's. He's actually the rational one who steps in during a phone call, while Ant tends to erupt more often than not.

Eh, what does he know? One minute they're both standing up, the next minute some guy is being pummeled on the ground. None of that for him. The only time he punches is when he punches in and punches out. Just give him a container of coffee and a donut, none of this heavyweight champion of the world business.

Every regular joe reference gets automatic +1 from me. It's funny every time.

when i read this post i immediately wanted to post a regular joe reference to it and you beat me bravo.

Oh my god give the guy a break. He never said he was the go to guy for UFC shit. He's talking to a Ufc fighter and trying to keep the interview going.

it's no different from Ant talking about technology or science, it's at best marginally correct, we all do that in life.

Bring back the Professor Anthony theme song. Professor Anthony used to come on and enlighten individuals.

you don't think science will be able to figure out what makes us individuals and be able to print clones with 3D printers?

In the near future we will all be able to read eachothers thoughts too.

I knew you would post this.

It gets frustrating when he talks about how every part of us is just code that will eventually be able to be replicated. That's ignoring all of the social and nurture aspects of life that affect us greatly, and this disproves Jimmy's theory completely. Twins raised separately are more different from each other than those raised in the same house, his theory is just wrong.

Everything contained in your mind could absolutely be replicated at some point. It's recorded there, its just a matter of decoding it.

But you have environment influences everyday. It'd only work for a single point of time if we could even ever measure environmental factors.

well yeah, after the duplication you'd split, but everything up until then would be the same.

Yeah, maybe I'm remembering wrong but I don't think that's what Jimmy was going for. It seemed like he thought it would be the same person throughout the while time.

It's not a "theory". It's a comedian saying dumb shit that pops into his head to fill 4 hours.

Who cares. Unless you are the one in the cage fighting, then you dont know shit either.

UFC fans can be some real douchebags...good god.

Yeah but I don't pretend to know

At what level are you qualified to talk about it? Rogan never does the cage but he's been doing martial arts his whole life, he knows more about fighting than a lot of the fighters, does he not know shit? His master has never had an mma fight but he's qualified to comment. You've been watching movies your whole life yes? You probably have some idea over whats good and whats bad. Not that you can go out and make a movie now, but you can comment with some level of understanding. Maybe if you've studied it for years you can do so with even more understanding. A Spielberg can certainly comment on what other directors are doing even though he isn't the one behind the camera. Plenty of douche ufc fans but no more than any other sport.

You're talking about Roy Nelson and his old style. Since his beginning on the UFC show he appeared on, I believe the only guy he has submitted was Kimbo. Of his 5 wins in the UFC, he has won by either KO or TKO by punches.

Now can you stop acting like an asshole and enjoy the show

You're reading comprehension is either near zero or you're a troll. To say Roy Nelson only has one weapon (striking) is flat out wrong. He hasn't submitted a lot of people because like I said, he realized he can punch. He is STILL a jiu-jitsu guy dummy.

Edit: Roy Nelson has a Black Belt in BJJ from Renzo Gracie but he must have gotten it for his striking lol

And Dan Henderson participated in the 92 and 96 olympics for greco roman wrestling. Most people only know him because of his right hand. Jimmy likes the UFC and was discussing it. Calm the fuck down.

You know when Opie talks about "UHHHHHHHHH" twitter guy? You're being him right now

this is reddit not twitter you dope

1 You are either in a really shitty mood and had to lash out on an internet forum because you can't control your emotions

or...

2 Just stop listening if you find something like this necessary enough to post a shitty thread about

Thanks for the advice mom. If you don't like the thread downvote it. Pretty simple really.

What a stupid cunt. You, I mean.

but if someone called him on it he'd admit he didnt know shit. he isn't the type to say no your wrong when he knows he isn't the expert

Jimmy knows the most on the show about UFC, I'm just happy the UFC guys go into the show.

What show was it when Jimmy brought up some statistic and it was way too obscure so Colin called him out because he was acting like he just recited it off the top of his head? That was a good laugh.

to be fair, if someone only watched roy's fights in the UFC and didn't read up on him or dig deeper, his right hand is all they'd know about. he hasn't shown any grappling skill aside from escaping werdum's back mount which was quick and overshadowed by the beating he took the rest of the fight.

Roy hasn't won a fight by submission since 2006.

Who gives a shit, don't be such an obsessed fan. There's a lot of shit that they talk about that isn't correct but I don't let it bother me, and it shouldn't bother you either.

Love it when people go all wackbag

the only thing jim gives 100% to is his standup... he's just a casual fan that likely followed bob kelly into the sport... i just wished he didn't pretend to know more than he really does.

Replace "UFC" with almost anything and it'll still be true.

I like lil Jimmy, but he always pulls things out of his ass. Future Jimmy, Addiction Jimmy, Tranny Whisperer Jimmy.

Did ya?

So I guess you only open your mouth on subjects you have a complete full and indepth understanding of.

ewwwwwwww stop it.

UFC is fucking gay, it screams gay, not the guys grappling half nude but just the whole thing like the fans, 90% have never lifted a finger except to get some potato chips, the clothes are tool bag wear.

im not a fan of UFC or WWE but they both suck, watch real sports you fags
