WBUF. Syndication, baby !!!

Used to get the WBUF signal in Toronto. Then S4S happened.

Now it's a JACK station, although they probably have he best music selection of all Buffalo stations, sadly to say.

There's a JACK down here in Detroit as well.

Yes, regrettable format station that has oozed throughout North America.

There is a bar named after a philosopher that I can't remember the name of. Saw Stanhope there...

That would be Nietzsche's. decent venue, though a new club opened in the winter. Jimmy was there on New Years.

Thanks handsome!

Those were the days.

They did more on terrestrial than they're allowed to do now on that fucking satellite shit company.

Here's a clip of the guy who put the sticker up:

I fully expected the basketball trick shot video

God I hate going to Buffalo. Is this the part of Buffalo the boys discussed that hasn't been ruined by 'those people'?

Ironically, there was a minority family riding their scooters past me as I shot this.

South Buffalo is mostly Caucasian and the West Side is gentrifying very rapidly. The East Side is where it's mostly minorities, if that's a problem.

Really? Link?

I love Buffalo, but this city is like KKK territory sometimes.

Check out buffalonewscomments.tumblr.com to see what I mean. I think Ant and some of his imaginary friends wrote some of those posts.

It's crazy. My dad has darker skin even though we're white guys and someone shouted nigger at us. We had a good laugh at the absurdity.

The negro

Lived on Elmwood and Lexington for a few years in the early '00s. It was an adventure to say the least. I stick to visiting my punk rock and hipster friends in Riverside now.

Huh, I live on Elmwood and Bird, right across from he 24-hour store.

People still live in Riverside?

Ahh We Ne Close. They ever fix the neon on the sign to read We Never Close?

Amazingly enough people live in Riverside. My friends ran a punk rock house called the Funeral Home on Ontario St. that had shows almost nightly until they were recently shut down by the city.

I heard about the Funeral Home closing shop. I did pre-student teaching out at the high school in Riverside and the neighborhood always seemed like a ghost town to me.

As for We Ne Close, funny enough they did fix it...but now the sign has broken again to read "VER CLOSE" (I posted a pic in the /r/Buffalo subreddit)

I know what you mean about Riverside being a ghost town. It's a weird area. Everything seems abandoned and boarded up but whenever I went to shows at the Funeral Home it was packed with people young and old.

I visit every few months to visit friends. If I'm not drinking at The Pink I'll be out in Kaisertown drinking at Wiechecs.
