Ant is always bringing up, when talking about guns, that he hates it when people from Canada and GB comment on American society. I don't completely agree with that, mostly I point towards Shane Smith who is originally Canadian. Shane always has great opinions on the country but he is talking about the world traveling to place to place. Anyway, Mark Burnett is different. He came off very pompous and arrogant when talking about self proclaimed epic "the bible". He almost mocked America by putting a show called THE BIBLE on THE HISTORY CHANNEL. HISTORY. BIBLE. And when he was quoting the pledge acting as if we are all Westboro Baptist Church Fucktards. Am I the only one that feels this way or am I just unnecessarily cynical?
TL;DR Burnett thinks we are all "god hates fags" assholes.

You have it wrong: Burnett and his wife are devout Catholics. He was stating America being a nation founded on religious principles as a positive, not negative, thing. He's proud that all of his stuff ISN'T sleazy reality tv.
As for it being on History, whatever you believe, it is one of the most historical books man has. I was raised Catholic (lapsed now), but I'd watch a Koran miniseries for the history behind it if nothing else.

Like the OP, I kind of got the vibe that he was a pompous atheist Brit who was saying "Look at these stupid fucking Americans, they'll watch this stupid show about the bible". Didn't know he was a devout Catholic. Maybe it's just that British accent.
...and yeah, I'm a lapsed Catholic too, haha. Going to Catholic school from K-12 does that I think.

I guess I shouldn't expect much from HURRstory nowadays. I don't think I mentioned here that he kept waving that people watch it, must be true and 100% quality. Whatever wasn't a great interview, they've had people on the phones longer than that.
