Ari is pretty funny. I know this phrase is kinda played out but maybe you just don't "get" him? I imagine it's sorta like coming in on Jimmy doing mean Jimmy and assuming he's always like that because you don't know the show's sense of humor.
Maybe I'm biased because the guy was a fucking douche to me when I met him at JFL42 while doing press for a comedy website I work for, while all the other comics were perfectly decent. And I didn't even try to interview Ari or bother him or anything.
You didn't try to interview him or bother him or anything and he was a douche to you? So he went up to you, for no reason and without provocation, and acted badly? Seems fishy.
But as long as you're giving no details I'm sure your story checks out.
