This is when things get interesting. Last night, Direct aired the latest ARTIE LANGE SHOW in which the former addict/host appeared confused, tired, dazed and generally out-of-it. His ramblings were mostly Non sequitur and people familiar to the studio or visiting began to sport the look of panic. Claiming he was sick from the glasses of milk he had just consumed, as the show went on Lange’s eyes began to roll back into his head and he began to nod off.

Capable co-hosts began to pick up the slack, talking more and asking questions of guests while feverishly trying to keep Lange on-track. It was mostly to no avail. Before long, Lange was mentioning that someone in the business had arranged for him to have threesomes with prostitutes (several times). He began singing DMX in a drunken frat-boy fashion while everyone in the studio nervously smiled.

Much to the dismay of TVFishbowl, Direct aired the disaster again, seemingly not bothered by Lange’s performance or the speculation it would generate. Before long, twitter was abuzz with observations that something was wrong with Lange, who kept claiming that the milk was the cause of his odd behavior. One could almost sense the disappointment of an entire fan base, who does little else than root-for and wish the best for Lange each time he appears.

Last time I checked, food poisoning makes you sweat, puke and shit.

This is really fucking sad to see. I love Artie and hope everything turns out alright. But knowing the reality of addiction and the statistics and even Artie himself, this is just fucking grim. And im not one of those angry bitter "fuck that junky" type guys, I think Artie has some serious fucking issues in his life and I feel nothing but serious sadness and pity for the guy. GET BETTER ARTIE.

Yup. When Nick left I knew without a doubt he was back on the junk even though he was having decent shows on his own. It's only a matter of time until he crumbles.

He didn't fuck up anything. I sometimes turn on the show in the evening as background. Most shows, he's totally coherent and does a great show. I'm not a die hard watcher, but I tune in a couple times a week and I've never seen him like this.

Man that is just awful. I my cousin is a junkie and would come down to Christmas dinner like that. She had no idea at all how fucked up she looked. She thought she was acting completely normal. It got to the point where the family had to cut her off. She is living in Brooklyn somewhere. That is the last we have heard from her. Kicking junk is hell of a thing. I really hope Artie can pull himself out.

he didnt really move them...he didnt even realize they were there, he was sort of bumping them out of the way.

It fascinates me that he doesn't have an ounce of self preservation to not get that bad on camera. I haven't listened to the show in a few months, has he been getting super short tempered with people lately? I remember back in the hoohoo days those times when he was coming down, while sad, were pretty interesting radio.

Addiction is the underpinning of mental illness. Artie isn't happy so he uses drugs.
