It's cold out here.

well go inside, they got coffee in there
7 [deleted] 2013-01-25
me too, I was on my 3rd pass of the patrice archive.

I think the uploader took them down before shit got crazy. I think theyll be back up soon. Sucks that all the views and comments are gone though, really dumb move on Sirius's part.

Well, it makes sense. I mean, why would you want people to listen to your radio station? They should take down the satellites too and then no one can listen. Boom! Problem solved.

Anyone have a clip of this? HAHA JK :(

I was one of the bastards that found them by listening to Youtube videos. I was searching for Louis CK, and found them.
8 bigtonyy 2013-01-25
This exact scenario was my downfall too.
Wait what is this? Louie CK and a couple of losers just sitting around and talking shit? The rest is history.
I know for a fact that they've earned quite a few fans here in Sweden because of the youtube videos. Sweden sucks, but whatever.

We don't suck! Yeah I did the old louie-luckylouie.norton-oa-+babybird and I was hooked.. Thank you the fucking internet..Thank you illegal copy dudes who upload stuff for free, you showed me louis c.k and Opie and anthony, THANKS!
2 whittleStix 2013-01-25
I said the same thing on another thread. I wonder how many listeners, legal or illegal, Louis CK brought to O&A?
5 [deleted] 2013-01-25
same here, without youtube i would have never listened to O&A, and without them i would have never have known about Patrice or lil Jimmy. I had heard of them both before, but had no idea how hilarious they are.
1 dorkrock2 2013-01-25
I did not even know O&A existed before checking out their Patrice shows on youtube. Look how fucking grateful Sirius is that fans on youtube gave them a new customer. This shit is despicable.
15 [deleted] 2013-01-25
Sadly, Opie can't stop the material from being removed.
3 [deleted] 2013-01-25
It always felt to me that formerly Opie and Anthony were allowing the shows to remain despite it technically being illegal.
8 Falldog 2013-01-25
They're smart enough to know that the YouTube clips help their business and fans.
11 Fidena 2013-01-25
People make fun of Opie, but he really does know how the game works. I guarantee you he knows how important the youtube clips are to them. It's a hell of a marketing scheme, especially since XM doesn't do shit for them.
6 [deleted] 2013-01-25
love the opster
14 drunk8gods 2013-01-25
Opie's always been a huge supporter of people that provide the show 'in other ways' and mentioned it several times throughout the years. OnA were both big supporters of Syndication Underground (pre-XM) with their file sharing and streaming of shows.

How O&A Youtube clips have affected me:
See how this shit works?? All this happened because of something that's supposedly illegal. It's amazing how lawyers and management simply never understand changing business models when it's happening right in front of them and they're still PROFITING off it! Look at the retards at Kodak who developed the digital camera technology but refused to promote it because it took away from their print developing infrastructure. Yuck!

The war on drugs will take the older generations last grip of influence to fade away which could be in about 2-3yrs but most likely around 5-6yrs to factor in presidential changes.
Media companies are highly entrenched so I'd expect around 5-6yrs before they finally fully support how the internet works... or just die off. But could take around 7-8yrs or more since they own copyrights forever.
1 im_not 2013-01-25
wow man, i dunno. i think you gotta expect both of those things to take far longer. politicians and lawyers are the slowest people ever when it comes to adapting to societal change

I want to thank Opie for standing up for people like me who upload classic bits to youtube. If your reading this Opie your comments are very much appreciated. Im ignoring the takedown request I received, if youtube wants to delete my channel so be it but I wont remove them. Everything is backed up and I think a few of us are going to work on putting together some comprehensive torrent collections.

Just wanna say thanks for providing material for all of us fans, it really is appreciated.

I'm gonna be honest with you guys. Last summer I got very sick and had to lay in bed for weeks. It was from that boredom that I discovered the O&A shows. Needless to say it made me really pull through some hard times. Listening to Patrice's stories and take on things made me really think different about the world and our society.. I mostly listened to the full shows and I intended to hear them all. especially Patrice's appearances. But now that they've been taken down I feel this emptiness.. Patrice was a modern day philosopher and removing all his appearances is almost like removing the transcripts of Plato or Socrates IMO.

Heavy shit bro. "Patrice is in heaven right now, speaking to god as an equal". - Colin Quinn
2 TheChippahChipperson 2013-01-25
Patrice outranks God in wisdom, not to mention sheer body mass.
5 erockarmy 2013-01-25
I started to listen to opie and anthony because i was looking for mel gibson's rage audio in summer of 2010 and then heard opie patrice and ant discussing one of the clips. I WAS HOOKED! since then i've uploaded a few ona clips including some of my favorite jocktobers. I haven't gotten any DMCA notices but I am pissed. This is such bullshit
5 mkv_VI 2013-01-25
These clips are one of the things the lead people to become subscribers.
7 tlwaterfield 2013-01-25
I wouldn't have any idea who Opie and Anthony are without them. I found the clip of their shows while searching for Louis CK shit. I've had a Sirius XM subscription for two years and counting now...

No matter how much it does help turn people on to the show, the people in charge will never allow their product to be available for free. They're just too close minded and focused on the money.
2 danfrank 2013-01-25
It's sad too, everyone loses when management refuses to adapt to emerging technology.
3 jollytrolley 2013-01-25
Don't worry, Opie, they didn't take them all down.
3 [deleted] 2013-01-25
Man, my friend just got into OnA a few days ago and only got through about 6 Patrice shows before this garbage happened. Poor little feller.
2 [deleted] 2013-01-25
this may be the saddest thing i have heard all day. my struggle was to find one i didn't know word for word.
2 jdlyga 2013-01-25
It's probably just youtube. The main sites for downloading the show everyday are still up.
2 fireants 2013-01-25
It's the old comedian appearances I miss. Louis CK, Patrice O'Neal etc.
2 99ovr 2013-01-25
Bob Dylan, or more likely the people who work for him, has been having most of his clips removed from YouTube for as long as I can remember. YouTube is actually how I discovered and got hooked on Bob Dylan, too. Just like with o&a. Since then I've bought a lot of his bootlegs, DVD's, etc.
Anyway, the uploaders of Dylan clips now just post them under a different name: "Elston Gunn." I guess it just makes it harder for these suits to find em and remove em.
Seems to be working, as there are a lot of rare clips that have been up for a year+ now. So maybe the o&a uploaders could do a similar thing.
2 sorendjierkinhaard 2013-01-25
There is no way to buy most of this material. How about Liberty fix that first?

looks like teds got a takedown request too. sad time's for the O&A community.
2 BuddyBanchuk 2013-01-25
Yep, nothing O&A related up there now. I'm gonna need antidepressants soon.

There's also the all the very precious Patrice Oneal radio stuff that's at peril.
1 phlammo 2013-01-25
When I search on YouTube for Patrice O'Neil Opie and Anthony I get a bunch of hits. What'd they take down?
2 jshepardini 2013-01-25
Listen to today's show. At the beginning they address it.
1 Whyver 2013-01-25
Opie hinted that Sirius won't actually pursue anyone, but I can see why people would still exercise caution. He was really eloquent about his thoughts on the matter. He knows the radio business like no other.
0 Wolfhoof 2013-01-25
OH NOW I GET IT!
One person was offended by one clip so the lawyers figure they'll get rid of all the clips so that problem doesn't ever arise again.
I first learned about O&A from steve's Louis CK series. Some great memories in those clips. ;_;
