New studio for the boys

I really hope that they can get the new studio, a bigger studio is exactly what the show needs in my opinion.

Besides them not bitching about the size of the studio anymore, I'm not sure what will change for us, as listeners....

You're right. I take back my comment. They did mention the possibility of having listeners come up and watch the show live again. That would be awesome.

Interns are off the table. Following the incident with the one intern getting kicked, O&A will never be allowed to include interns in any bits - on-air or off-air.

Supposedly, the intern supervisor has to be in the studio when interns possibly do go on-air.

HR have killed this one.

Weren they able to talk to te good looking intern who had the pool party? Or are they just not allowed to do stunts.

There was a whole thing about whether or not E-Rock had to be in studio since he is the intern supervisor.

Fucking around with interns has never been funny. Its just a radio crutch

You're apparently not aware of the greatness that was Pat Fucking Duffy. Because that dude was amazing.

Okay so one interesting intern in 7 years. Totally warrants an hour bit 3 times a week.

He was a human garbage can. What else did he bring to the show?

I do. Think about it. They never show up for anything past show hours. Unless it has to do with resigning their contract, they refuse to meet with any management off air. That leaves only their minions to do the heavy lifting and they have 0 influence.

For instance, on Tuesday Opie kept bitching his usual bitch about Gary etc and threatened to meet with Scott Greenstein. It's just more empty threats; he actually snuck out of the show early instead. For anything to get done in a corporate environment, they have to meet with the paper pushing idiots every now and then or have their next to worthless agent (who lives 3000 miles away from NY) do it for them. Instead they make it a bit about fleeing the building by 10:01, never answering phone calls, texts, or emails and complain on air when someone wants to meet with them.

I have no idea where that rant came from. I just think it hits close to home working with talent that complain 24/7 about a shitty situation but don't want to put any leg work into help fix it.

Yeah back at XM they were known to walk in to the studio as ecstasy of gold was playing. But it always worked out. Over at XM they also had ELO to watch their back and fight for them. At Sirius, no one in management is fighting for them and at this point why would they?

So for now they will always get the shit end of the stick if they don't play ball every now and then. But I think it might be too late for that.

Musical acts sucked on the show. They tend to clam up and can only play music that only occasionally sound decent. XM staff rarely got the levels right for any band playing in studio, I doubt sirius would do any better.

The one thing it would allow is for listeners to attend the show on particular days. That live audience seemed to invigorate the boys. It also gave them the chance to do lazy radio on occasion. However, nothing can be worse than the 20 years ago bit last week.

i think the 20 years ago/ speaker of the house were intentionally bad

I had a chance to be a part of the live audience in the XM studios. Having the crowd there made a huge difference since they got to play off the crowd and have spontaneous moments. I hope they get an audience area again, it'll give the show a different angle.

I think jimmy hit it perfectly saying that its just embarassing. One of the biggest shows in the building and they have nicholas cage probably steping over mic chords and people to try and find a seat.

They'd be able to do musical acts if they had more space. I'd love a homeless talent show again.

Hey, does anyone know what Mustard has been up to? Is he still sober?

Why doesn't Ant want him back?

Then they can finally do some in studio events without having to fight to book the fishbowl and tape it with censor bars so no one sees any naughty things

yeah.......you know it's never happening. I doubt Garry will even bring it up to management.

At this point I think the radio wizard has zero interest in doing anything that will help Gregg Hughes in any way. And I'm not sure I even blame him anymore.

It's pretty funny for me because my cousin works for Martha on XM and he just got moved to a real shitty position, and he had to obviously leave the studio.

Let's be honest here, it's not the lack of studio that results in the lack of show content, it's the hosts. Their not motivated anymore, they are beaten down. Opie is a different guy now, Ant just wants to crack jokes and be the king of life, and Jimmy just wants to get on TV. The radio show has been on life support for years, and a big studio isn't gonna change anything. There will be something else to bitch about and make excuses for why they show continues to drag.

On life support? What? The show has been mostly great in the past few years. They're blowing up the youtubes and I feel like the listener base is growing.

Meh, I don't see it. Don't get me wrong, I still listen because it's still a funny show, but the show is a shell of it's former self. Years ago there was the travelling virus, the stunts, the studio guests, etc. Whoever is to blame, mgmt, the boys, whatever, the energy around the show is low. I don't see any blowing up on youtube, and I have no clue about listener base, but I don't see new listeners being brought in for long running jokes and bits.

Years ago they had better management that believed in the boys..... Now management appears to push down all responsibility to the staff but gives them little resources to get things done. It's typical corporate bullshit actually. Take away the medium and this is every corporate crony problem. I actually enjoy the opster bitching as I can somewhat relate to it...

You don't remember Chip's viral video, Sam's viral video, or the Opester's viral video?

The listener base is only getting bigger with Howard doing his shitty shows these days. People change, of course they're all different people now compared to 5 years ago.
