I got really annoyed with him in the first couple minutes but then once he started actually telling stories, I warmed up to him. I enjoyed his appearance.
Same here, I neard the first few minutes and switched it off. Then I heard them talking about it on After O & A and listened to the whole thing and it was terrific!
I love that they had every intention of destroying him but he laid it out on the table that he "got it" and understood that they were making fun of his special and he even said he deserved it. Very humble and nice guy. Totally turned around the way I felt about him, might even go see his awful show live if he comes by my town.
Except I'm not sure he did get it. He just thinks they were busting chops cause that's just what they do. I don't think he realises just how serious they were being and how bad his special is.
Though I enjoyed his appearance I still kinda hoped Op would be a dick to him for comedy value.
Yea I'm not sure he got it fully, like when they were making fun of his Rodney impression. But he definitely said something along the lines of "whether you like what I do on stage or not" so he knows lots of people think it's awful. He handled it very well and made it almost impossible to bust his chops live.
He was pretty good. I was sort of hoping they'd go deeper down the destroyer route, but it was good radio regardless. He's a pretty high-energy guy and surprisingly added to the show (at his expense a little).
