No Louis CK at the Patrice benefit?

They said on the show that "ALL of Patrice's real friends" are doing the benefit, but no mention of Louis.

Louis CK is too busy being knee-deep in Amy Poehler and yachting with Seinfeld and Gervais to care about Patrice's benefit. Patrice, if still alive, would be the ONLY person to tell LCK to pull his head out of his ass.

Holy shit. Fucking brutal truth.

" if still alive, would be the ONLY person to tell LCK to pull his head out of his ass." YES.

So is "CQ" but I guess Col (I call him Col) is just a humble and down-to-earth top-flight comic/celeb.

Sure, he's an A-lister and a comedy icon, but he's just a regular guy, ya' know?

The likes of Louis, Dane Cook, DeRosa, Florentine et al. should have dropped everything to be at this show, if they were indeed close with Patrice. If not, I completely get it, but if they were genuinely friends, how could you not be at this thing? Everyone on the list for this benefit gets my eternal respect, as for me Patrice was the greatest comedian who ever lived.

Listening to O&A for years, it seems like comedians are pretty much just sociopaths.

At first I thought "hmm maybe some guys are booked that day" but then when Bill Burr said he asked Bobby If he's free and bobby said "I think, but if I'm not ill cancel" I thought differently. There's still time,I hope they come around.

No mention of Dane either, he came up with Patrice.
3 user_name_goes_here 2012-11-29
Oh yeah, I thought of him earlier, too. The boys made a special point to say "everyone was asked", so I guess they had other things scheduled that they felt they couldn't change.

Fuck Dane

or Joe DeRosa?

Anyone else find it uncomfortable that Florentine isn't a part of the gig? Maybe he's busy and can't make it but it seems like Patrice and Florentine were close.

Louis is right in the middle of his tour, which he probably embarked on before the benefit even had a venue, and will continue until after benefit. He also has to write and shoot a new season of his show still.
3 [deleted] 2012-11-29
No shows after February 1 for that tour.
3 theronin23 2012-11-29
Well, fuck me in the ass.
The second sentence is still relevant though.
Why do we care, though? I mean, honestly. Who the fuck are we to question Louis' loyalty to the memory of Patrice? I don't think Patrice would give a shit.

show is off the air until 2014

Also noticed to bobby and no rogan? Although I wouldn't be surprised if the list got larger/surprise last minute add ons.
I'm originally from NY,living in CA now.bought tix today and am flying home for it
1 [deleted] 2012-11-29
Yes Bobby.
1 Moklok 2012-11-29
Isnt Rogan in California right now?
1 mancubuss 2012-11-29
Show isn't till February

If all of Patrice's friend were to do a show, then they could pack a stadium. He was close with Louie, Dane Cook AND Kevin Hart.
2 LawDogSavy 2012-11-29
No doubt he was asked, and as much as he liked Patrice to not drop what he is doing and go, has to mean it's pretty important. Hell, who knows maybe he's on vacation with his daughters somewhere at that time. It is February vacation time for schools then.
8 user_name_goes_here 2012-11-29
I agree, but Jim seemed annoyed or pissed or something when discussing those who would NOT be there.
3 LawDogSavy 2012-11-29
yeah i did pick up on that. maybe that was toward DeRosa? No way DeRosa has as much going on, and possible money lost, than Louis.
0 thedude831 2012-11-29
I immediately thought of Louis when I heard that. But I don't know, Louis seems too perfect to fuck something up like this.
2 user_name_goes_here 2012-11-29
I think that's exactly why Louis stuck out to me and not the others. He seems too perfect to get this wrong. I really hope he's just massively busy.
1 flintskins 2012-11-29
They may be holding Louis' name back to see if it sells out with fans of all the guys/fans who really appreciated Patrice instead of the feeding frenzy of people who just discovered Louis recently and possibly wouldn't be into the whole show and not buy Patrice merch (further contributing to the family) or even stay the whole time. Maybe I'm being naive, thinking wishfully, out of my mind, whatever. I just have a strong feeling Louis will be there, and if he isn't I'm sure he will do whatever else can be done to help Von and Patrice's mom. He may be in the Seinfeld mafia but there is no denying that Louis is a really fuckin good guy.
2 fingerrockets 2012-11-29
Maybe they are holding out on mentioning him so hard core fans of Patrice and the current lineup can get tickets.
If they mentioned that CK was going to be there. The venue would have sold out to dip shits that are only there for CK.
10 fingerrockets 2012-11-29
Also who cares Colin Quinn, Dave Attell, and Bill Burr are 100x funnier than CK.
7 [deleted] 2012-11-29
I think anthony was right when he said the best thing is colin quinn when he's ripping on other comedians. I think when that happens he's the funniest of all of them.
5 pfk505 2012-11-29
Completely agree.. maybe not the Louis of old but the watered down, PC-Louie for sure.
4 [deleted] 2012-11-29
I don't agree Louis is watered down, but he is more PC these days, and less funny.
1 pfk505 2012-11-29
More PC + less funny = watered down Louie! To me he's just not the same.. as exemplified by his last appearance. I still find him funny, and a cut above most comics, but he wasn't the Louie of old, that's for sure.
4 [deleted] 2012-11-29
They are now, anyway. Maybe 4 years ago it'd be a horserace.
3 bu77munch 2012-11-29
I disagree, but an opinion is an opinion. I think they're all on different levels of funny. But you can't deny Louis won't sell out more than them.
3 [deleted] 2012-11-29
ya, and to be fair, they did say "and others".
1 flintskins 2012-11-29
I didn't see this before making a very similar comment in reply to a post above. I clearly totally agree with this possibility.
2 [deleted] 2012-11-29
Really disappointed in Louis. When Patrice died, everybody except Louis tweeted about it, and I had this vision of Louis not showing up for O&A the next day when I knew everyone would be invited. He did end up showing up, of course, but the thought came into my mind of Louis leaving the show behind.
1 Fidena 2012-11-29
They had a good dynamic together. What's wrong with Louis?
5 JustinNoir 2012-11-29
Louis dedicated his special Live at the Beacon Theater to Patrice.
