I thought he'd make an appearance on Weekend Update, but instead I sat through that awful "Girl You Wish You Hadn't Started a Conversation With" bit. Fucking atrocious.
My hope that Louis would come on afterwards and salvage the segment. I muted most of it anyway, but those closed captions told me everything I needed to know.
Not the first time a monologue was just a stand-up act. Dane Cook did the same thing when he hosted...and I'm sure Carlin did the same thing back in the 70s when he hosted a few times.
I agree, though: best part of the show, everything else was downhill.

Love Louie, but SNL stinks on ice

Louie's monologue was great, the rest of the show stank.

I enjoyed the Abraham Lincoln 'Louie' parody in addition to his monologue but the rest was blah

That was actually one of my favourite bits from the show because I know a girl who is EXACTLY like that and it was an accurate parody to me.

Agreed, that and when he licked that girl's face was pretty funny

It wasn't a traditional SNL monologue though. It was just 3 minutes of his standup act. (Which was the best 3 minutes of the show).

It wasn't a very good episode, which is par for the course. The Lincoln bit was pretty good. I wonder how the b-b-b-b-boys will spin the show.
