The problem is this:

Erock wasn't really TOTALLY in the wrong imho. He had time off he could take, he took it, fuck them. He's constantly put in a no win situation. If he plays along, they trash him, going to 2.5 hour lengths to do so. If he hangs up, they trash him for not playing along.

I'll tell you something, that 'branch' that was on those wires? Fuck them if they think I'm going near power lines to get into work, especially a job where I'm constantly berated and called 'fat boy.'

Totally agree. Yea he wasn't doing anything at the moment, but he took off so when his brother called him he could go help. I mean all his families lives were destroyed, cut the guy a break

That's not the problem. You have to look at the relationship with ERock outside of this incident. In general, they trash him because he's a sad sack loser who'd rather eat/look at bikini girls than improve himself. He's utterly defenseless against them (why don't you come here and shut up!) and like sharks smelling blood he's easy to rip to shreds.

Even Sam (who has his own set of problems) said something to the effect of "you'd think after eight years he'd be better at this".

The fact he isn't is infuriating and what I mean by one note joke.

ACTUALLY, upon listening to the replay, I realized what the real problem was.

They stretched that one bit for 2.5 hours so they didn't have to do the last day of Jocktober. What's going to be interesting is what they do tomorrow.

They did this with Intern Rob and dozens of other people. They trick you, 1 hour in you'll still be listening and you'll ask yourself "why are they still interrogating him on this shit?" And they keep milking it. This morning when you thought it would end Opie goes off on how Erock is psychotic and vague and how there might be something wrong with him and it adds another 10 minutes to the show.... And holy shit I just wrote a paragraph on this garbage.

ya, i understand what they were doing....poking holes at his story, erock is lazy, lies, blah blah....but it wasn't working...they should have just brought in joe derosa and made fun of him for a few hours

the problem isn't Erock - the problem is in the studio --- my guess is they had no material and Erock is easy pickings for them - lazy radio 101 from the masters of it - I record on an Ino and once I saw where it was going, I erased it and went onto something else, this seems to happen more and more often lately, very disappointing

it isn't just today - I find myself caring less about the show, seems to be getting hack - how many times can you do the same material and think it is funny? I don't know what has changed but it seem like they have been phoning it in a lot recently. I only renewed my sub for the channel - not sure I am going to make that choice next year, there are too many other sources for entertainment available - I have 100s of hours of backlogged podcast - right now I am hoping things change with new management next year
