I'm pretty sure that's when their current contract expires, the show has been eerily silent about what's going on with the negotiations this time around, particularly compared to the last go around. I can't imagine they would actually give up the show, but it might not be up to them with Sirius takeovers and business trouble. I just hope the show survives and thrives somewhere, and with minimal down time.
They did the EXACT same thing last time around. However if anyone has listened to Jay Mohr's podcast with Jimmy, he asked how Jimmy became a regular on the show. Jimmy mentions fans don't know how close the show was to breaking up but gets sidetracked and they never come back to it. Legally I don't think they can do the show without each other. However considering what Jimmy said and how they don't hang out now, Jimmy goes to see Ant and Opie but neither of them do the same, I think they are just longtime coworkers and not really friends.
