Not being edgy. I sincerely despise dogs as well as their owners. I don't wish them harm or anything; I can't stand animal abuse either, but dogs really are just consumers of resources who provide nothing creative or piquant and practice undeniably terrible hygiene. And "well they're dogs so it's different" is not any kind of valid argument for the infrequently with which they are bathed by their owners, and the fact they're not capable of deliberately bathing themselves once daily is one of the reasons why they suck. "But they're dogs!!!! What do you expect????" That's exactly it.

My dog guards my house, and provides company. They're good friends. I don't have to financially or otherwise gain from a relationship.

1. Get a weapon or an alarm system.
2. Not a real friend. If someone else started feeding them they'd forget who you are entirely in a week. If you're just looking for company okay sure.
3. Even indoor dogs still pick up grime, regardless of panting instead of sweating. They're still unsanitary in other ways. They rub their wet noses all over humans to "greet" them. They lick humans on a regular basis.

I'm not telling you you're wrong to like dogs. I'm sure they've brought you plenty of positivity in your life and the lives of others. But I'm not being an edgelord looking to piss people off, I really find dogs to be extremely offputting. And I typically hate their owners too, but I also hate a lot of things in general
