I love Patrick! I'm his biggest fan! His socially conscious intergalactic space novel's really float my boat, so I'm confused as to why you hate him? Being that him and I are from the same city, I would like to meet him and communicate your frustration with him to him directly as things are always better understood face to face.

I tried the "I'm a fan" bit, it lasted two days. He really is so deplorable and self-important that it's exhausting. I did read some of The Ark and am a quarter of the way through Gate Crashers, it's rough going.

Hot take, I'm pretty sure that any of my sci fi friends who said they liked Patrick were either nuts or screwing with me.

Go read Will Tate instead, he did a great series called Starship Repo a few years back, I've been hearing good things about it.
