One of the things I love about Norm's book is that there are some factual events sprinkled throughout that leaves even Norm's biggest fans wondering if some of the stuff that goes down actually happened.
In your case I think you might have just glossed over a line, in the book Norm isn't actually molested by Old Jack but rather Old Jack's squirrel. I don't have the book at hand but if you flip to (I believe) the chapter featuring Old Jack's funeral there is a line which says something to the effect of 'a squirrel trained to do unspeakable acts'.

It's true. I read his book.
I still don't know if he was serious when he hinted at being molested as a boy. It seemed serious to me.
